Default Do you live in a world of scarcity or a sea of abundance…???

Do you live in a world of scarcity or a sea of abundance…???

As the late Flip Wilson so aptly said, “What you see is what you get.”

If you see abundance all around you… and, opportunities galore… that is what you will reap… sadly, the reverse is also true…

So, share with us… how’s your neighborhood…???

Possibilities are everywhere, if you are willing to learn and grow.

I think many people misses the opportunities because they expect the star quality life instantly. But your first simple job, might actually be the door opening many new doors. To countless adventures...

It's not where you start, it's where you are heading.

No matter how many possessions I may choose to have at any one time, the abundance of the universe makes itself readily apparent. It seems whenever I go through papers I had laying around I find a check or two just waiting to be cashed that I hadn't noticed before, or an unexpected check will come in the mail. Various ways of generating money always seem to pop up. I may spend $300 on something unexpectedly and within a couple days I get an increase in college grants of $300 for the semester without even asking for it. Somehow I always have whatever I need. Even more important and lovely is the abundance of affection I find in my friendships

As the world get older its nature resources are depleted. However, it brings minds from all over the world together because this is a world problem. How can we do more with less? How can we save our plant? How can we feed its people?

We have no shortage of universities or graduates from universities. We need to address this problem, scarcity, in a way that we all win.

Benny2: Yes, physical scarcity there is. But opportunities to better oneself and the world we never get short of. That is the sunny side of it!

I try to approach life with an 'abundance mentality'. When I see someone getting rich or doing something great I may get jealous for just a moment (scarcity mentality), but then I just get inspired to get out there and grab my share!

I live in an area of the world that is blessed with abundant natural resources, so there have been many people here making their fortunes over the past few years. What really excites me though is the Internet. What a powerful way to reach a potentially global audience. I get a buzz from looking at my blog stats and seeing people from India, Ireland, Tokyo, Finland, etc have visited...

Hey Swede.
Just a friendly reminder.
Switch your thinking from possibilities, to actual realities swirling all around you....stretching endlessly.

Well I see the life around me as very opportune. There are so many different things you can do with yourself -- regardless of your immediate physical "neighborhood." I live in a small town and too often do I hear people say that they are ready to leave this place and go somewhere where opportunities present itself. That is the antithesis of how I see it. Sure, big cities have their benefits, but you can't wait until you move there to start seeing opportunities. I have made a lot out of what seems to be nothing in my small town. I do independent film movies that just latch on to the natural, country scenery. It is not where you are that determines what you can do, but how you see your surroundings.

i see abundance all around me. i live in the Ozarks and the woods around me are teaming with life. The landscaping around my home is truly amazing in its abundance and people comment on it all of the time (I grow this very same thing but yours is twice as tall and as big as mine). My home is full of beautiful things.

To bad that same abundance is not reflected in my pocket book. But hopefully soon maybe it will be.

See money all around you (because it's there) and some of it will find its way to your pocket...

If you see money as being just abundant as air and water, you will have plenty of it... it is there for you to grab...

Scarcity here, unfortunately.

Too much in life these days seems to be positional, and high relative position is always scarce.

Abundance! Definitely.

I own my own business, and have no competitors...only colleagues.

The less money that I want, the more that comes to me. I once came home and there on my lawn were two $20 bills!

Sure, and I thank you for inviting me to talk about it.

It's a case of nobody-remembers-the-silver-medalists-syndrome gone way out of hand. High relative position has become a scarce good which seems to be increasingly important these days. (If only the top 100 of some group of people get rewarded at all, the position of being among the top 100 is scarce.)

I think of the way people talk about everything from jobs to damn near anything. "If you're a superstar in your field, there will always be a job..." is something every platitude-spouter goes off saying these days, as if they do not realize how positional superstar-ness or damn near anything else is.

Being "knowledgeable", "talented", "educated", "rich", and so on (or their opposites!) seem to be defined as positional goods. They can be had only if there are others who do not have them, and as such necessarily are always scarce, not abundant. ("Exclusive opportunities" or "elite education" no longer fit the descriptions if they are offered to everyone.)

This is just my twisted mind ranting on, however; I may be entirely wrong.

Smile You asked for it!

Immersed in abundance! Awesome meditation and visualisations this morning. Let our youngest guy have a treat...day off school with us. Video'd him on the back lawn of our magnificent beach house, amping on his hand stands and backflips...he loves gymnastics. Saw a beautiful rainbow. Helped my inlaws. Thinking about the insane day of surfing with close mates yesterday (Blacks, South Oz, home break, one of the worlds most awesome lefts...if you really surf, you know all about it), and the sunny day on the beach with my beautiful all over, inside and outside, wife. Got a phone call, guy wants to rush the settlement on 2 blocks of land I sold him, so he can start building straight away. Sold some CFD's 25% profit in about a week. A little later, this is so funny, Rinker is in a take over ploy, my broker rings me and tells me I have been allotted 2000 shares, like their other customers, no money needs to change hands, they are bought and then automatically sold to the takeover company. I get 500 bucks...just for being so good looking. I tell him I'm worth heaps more...but hey, I'll take it. Stoked my boys are so close and get on so well, (all our efforts are paying off) and they are playing indoor soccer tonight. Squats, leg extensions, hypers, hanging abs, in a little while. My wife is so beautiful, irresistable and inspirational. I'll do the youth and vitality paraliminal later. I've got a lot to be thankfull for before I hit the sack...but I deserve it! I hope any readers take this the right way...but if you don't, I'm not changing a thing!

Default Chaos

An abundance of scarcity. I'm still kind of confused about where it keeps coming in from and how to deal with it. A couple of years ago it was especially confusing, my mom kept going "We're poor, we're poor, we can't afford air conditioning or tuition -- let's go to Beijing for the weekend. We're so poor we can't get our cats neutered and we're poorer 'cause they breed! I'm sending you to study in Oxford for the summer."

And me in my sweltering greenhouse of a room because I turned off the air conditioner to save money while the other five were chilling up the house, say "I'd rather keep our cats healthy--"

"INGRATE!"

It was very frustrating. Still very frustrating, as now that my family can agree that we're going through Hard Times but our groceries were of exponentially swanky quality (why, it all looks the same in our stomachs anyway) and I clean up messes to find bills for pretty pricey spa and reflexology treatments. Because mom was really stressed during these Hard Times.

But finally, finally they can't hold me back from taking public transportation and reusing bottles and such. They keep complaining that my "eco-terrorist" way of living was expensive and inconvenient and looked tacky in front of guests, and now I guess I have my personal ethical abundance-- yay!

Still frustrated. It's like nobody around me wants to be happy. And I know it's all my mom's money to spend or complain about as she wants, but a lot of that goes to funding my life and I have no right to say anything about how. Also, I can't help thinking that we're spending irresponsibly and I'm terrified that my spending habits are going to follow-- it goes something like "abstain, self-flagellate, moan like a martyr, binge, repeat." That was the way my eating habits used to go last year, but I got over it (completely unsupported, but over it and slooowwly fleshing out into a human again.)

Really, I can't tell anymore what I'd be attracting. It's such a mess.

Er, I made my first million... neopoints...

I have worked with many "haves" from the sea of abundance, a lot of my friends are "have nots" from the world of scarcity although some are "would haves" from the island of "pull your finger out"

I have dug a canal from the sea of abundance to fill a lake in the middle of the world of scarcity. I call this lake value and I live on an island in the middle called sufficiency. (hows that for imagery)
