  |  You can pass up Pass It On
Erin and I saw it at the May 10 premier in Vegas with about 900 other people. Some of the film's stars were there -- we saw Dr. Michael Beckwith, Charlie "Tremendous" Jones, and Neil Patrick Harris among others. Our impression of the film was largely negative. There were so many experts packed into it that each one barely spoke for 30 seconds before the film would cut to another expert. No profound insights or inspiring stories, just a lengthy string of sound bites and rah-rah platitudes. Erin and I managed to make it through the movie, but we didn't stick around for the after-parties. I know the producers are doing another round of editing based on feedback from the premier, but given what I saw, I don't see how editing can save it. If it were me I'd just start over from scratch. I must say the cheesy computer graphics (circa 1995) also offended my sensibilities as a former game developer. This is a shame because I know some of the people who contributed to Pass It On, but there's just no way I can give it anything but a thumbs down. This is the kind of film that makes me want to distance myself from the field of self-help entirely. |

Hey. I was looking at the trailer. I got to give Steve and Erin some credit, because I didn't even watched the whole trailer. It really "sounds" like the secret, but it doesn't feel right to me. For people who want to watch the trailer. Trailer link |

Just want to say that my opinion on this movie is nothing, because I didn't see it. Maybe I will, but still, the trailer is too cliche in my opinion. I'm gonna watch the trailer tomorrow again, and maybe I will look at it in a different light. Now it's sleeping time !! Early rising early rising why do you always keep me suprising. ( I think i could use some sleep) |
