Yep, I think this might be the last career I'll try before I give up and decide to go to college and get a typical job and live the American dream Basically I'm 16, dropped out of school last month and I'm working on getting my GED, I really don't plan on going to college, I just tell my mom that so she'll shut up. But I think acting is something that will be fun, I love movies and I can make people laugh and a lot of people have said that I should try being an actor. But the thing is I give up on everything I do, never go fully through with it, sometimes not even youtube videos..i know it's bad. I need some motivation. I was thinking of getting a little job and maybe paying for acting classes or something then moving on to bigger stuff and start auditioning and so on. I don't really know where to start man. im depressed |

Acting is hard work. It's not just hard to act, but it's also hard to find acting gigs. If you're sixteen you'll need a great deal of parental support. They'll need to take you to lessons, auditions, look out for your best interests in the business world. But if you plan on going it alone, you've got a couple of options. Get a night job that will let you go to lessons which are usually at night too, so that you can make yourself available for auditions that you'll be made aware of 15 minutes after you were supposed to be there. Or you can move to LA and be a bum. Sleep on the streets and just go to auditions. In either way, it'll probably be a few years before you can get gigs regularly. |
