I have been staying all night and browsing the computer always for the past year and i don't seem to find a way to get out of this night addiction, i am always mostly addicted to the internet and i always stay here to learn stuff or listen to songs or watch a movie because i get so much entertainment and also in the end i finish off by masturbating, i try a lot of things to come out of this addiction but am not able to come out because am not happy with the life am living and since i have been like this for the past year i am not going out there outside to take new steps to improve my life but i do have thoughts or day dreams about the ways i can improve it but i also think a lot about my regrets and the negative stuffs in the past because i had a failure last year and that got me into a lot of sadness, regret and all, some friends of mine did say me that i can get back on my feet and i don't need to be like this but the thing is at that at the moment am scared about doing stuffs and i don't want to be hurt anymore and i still do know that trying to escape reality by doing these stuffs won't get me anywhere and i also smoke pot everyday and that's why am a pot head but i somehow managed to not become a alcoholic as i didn't want to screw up my life anymore, so what do i do? I have also lost my friends due to my anti-social behavior that i avoided everyone and that also ended me having a breakup with my girl friend and she is married to some one else now. My life sucks, i am now in my robe right now i sleep in the hall, i sleep all around the house and i had been diagnosed with sinus, other than that i take a walk outside everyday and i feed my cows that i have behind my house its not i live in a village or something i live on an estate and i love cows so i have them. Edit: I didn't check with any psychiatrists till now because i felt not to talk with anyone at all and i don't know if i should visit one. I felt i needed to change the way i am now and that's what got me to say something here. I also have sex all the time to make myself feel better. Last edited by Pot head; 12-01-2011 at 10:17 PM. |

The general theme I get is feeling of hopelessness and as you stated, escapism. There's a lot of people who claim to experience insomnia who smoke pot. Also too, after the effects of the pot go away, the feeling of sadness can be increased because the high doesn't last. Will power. Maybe pick one thing that you really want to change about your life right now and focus the will you have on that. Decide what you want to do first and foremost, and then proceed. For me, it was breaking my addiction to facebook. That was the first thing. And I just focused on the first step which was deleting the facebook. If you want to stop staying up all night, take one thing that you usually do while awake and eliminate that as an option. Tell yourself, "Nope, not doing it." And instead lay in your bed. While there, close your eyes, inhale for 3 slow seconds and say and in your head say, "Letting..." and then exhale for 3 slow seconds and say, "Go..." This'll help you to relax while you sleep at night. |

If you have a friend that always sleeps at the time you would like to, you can arrange it so that both of you would sleep at the same time. Maybe sleep at his place. Otherwise, you can use operand conditioning; for example, make a promise with the person you often have sex with to go to sleep at a certain time. Everytime you succeed to sleep at the right time, have sex the next morning. Everytime you fail, don't have sex. You can also do it with pot; everytime you succeed in sleeping at the right time, smoke the next day and vice versa. Note that I'm not endorsing the use of pot. If you simply aren't going to do away with it soon, you might as well use it to your advantage. Try that method for 30 days (30 Days to Success) and you may well have established a good habit. |

What other kind What can you Imagine yourself enjoying...now, & next year, etc. | |
