I get so frustrated over things, I can't sit still or waste the day. I'm 14, make a decent amount of money on the interwebs (lol) and I'm so impatient with everything. This might sound cocky but I'm quite clever. I get A* (usually) in English, Maths, Chemistry and Physics and in other subjects like ICT, Geography. I'm not so good with Biology and French though, an A to C usually. I think it has something to do with patience, other subjects (physics and maths eps.) you have to understand in order to use it. I can get 100% (disregarding stupid mistakes) in maths without any revision because it just clicks, whereas in things like biology it's about memorizing the facts and figures. I can get angry sometimes, it's not uncontrollable usually but it can be. I also get frustrated with people sometimes, even if they're walking slowly. I walk at about 4.5mph whereas according to wolframalpha the average speed is 2.5mph. In some (1.5 hour) lessons I feel like I want to run out of it because I could learn it all in about 5 minutes at home. How do I control the frustration and impatience? |

Patience can be difficult for me, too, especially when I can get people to see things the way I see them. But that's just it, we're all different. We all see the world differently and respond to things going on around us in our own way. It's really what makes the world so cool to live in. That said, you're way ahead of the game if you're already thinking about this stuff and I commend you on that. I used to get frustrated with memorization in school as well, especially if I wasn't interested in the stuff I had to memorize. The best tip I can give you for that is to challenge your creative mind to think of a way to make it more interesting to you. See the memorization as a way of putting the big puzzle together. Keep asking yourself stuff like "What does this lead to?" once you start getting one piece of the puzzle down. In terms of other areas, be appreciative that you have your own style. You do things your own way and think your own way. Once you can start appreciating this and love having your own style, you can learn to appreciate that other people have to act in their own way in order for you to have your own way. Hope that makes sense and helps a bit. |
