What would reaching your goals look like if your mind didn't get in the way?

I've personally found this book extremely useful. Affirmations and positive thinking only got me so far.

Has anyone had success with positive thinking and affirmations and does it make more sense to address the faulty foundation of our thinking and take our thoughts and beliefs apart rather than simply ignoring them and going after our goals anyway?
