Default A Simple Fix for an Unfulfilling Life

Is your life slipping by?

Are you choosing how to live every moment, or are you just floating through life?

When was the last time you were fully satisfied with what you did in a day?

Depressed By the Answers?

You're not alone.

Life is just a series of moments, moments that many of us waste. You either make progress toward the life you want, or you stall. Sadly, many of us stall and never recover.

But it doesn't have to be that way.

We have the power to CHOOSE what we want to do with our time, to CHOOSE how we think and respond to situations. We can CHOOSE to live the happy, successful life we want.

Why Aren't You Making Choices?

Of course if it were easy to do, the world would have 7 billion people living fulfilling, joyful lives. (REALITY CHECK: it doesn't!)

Your environment your habits, your friends and family, all conspire to pull you down into a quagmire of unfulfilled dreams. They distract you from your power to CHOOSE the life you want.

You see, our brains have certain patterns of thinking and responding that are heavily influenced by triggers in our world, triggers that are hard to avoid. To defeat negative habits in your life, you need to defeat their triggers.

Easier said than done.

But the easiest way I know to do this is to build new, positive triggers. And that is why I came up with the following simple strategy. But don't be fooled by its simplicity. If you consistently use this strategy, you will be surprised how much more productive, happy, and in line with your values your day becomes.

A Simple Trigger That Can Transform Your Day (Maybe Your Life)

Every time you check the clock (or most likely, your phone) ask yourself one, or a few, or all of these questions:

Is what I'm doing right now the most valuable use of my time?

Am I living the life I want to live right now?

Am I being the person I want to be right now?

Am I making progress towards a goal?

Have I earned this free time?

Living Consciously

These question will make you reevaluate how you spend your time. You will go from floating through the day, mindlessly wasting most of your time, to making conscious choices about how you want to live and spend your time. This is powerful stuff, and has worked really well for me.

This isn't a fix-all-problems solution. But making deliberate choices about how you want to spend your time is a great step in the direction of a better life.

What strategies do you use to live the life you want? Any tip/tricks to share? I'd love to have a great discussion guys!

I wish you were around to motivate me when I used to be a procrastinator.

Thanks for that SteveBrule,
I also think most people (including me) live in a semi-transe with all those thoughts roaming in their heads.

Truly living a fullilling life, for me, is living every moment 100% with all it has to offer, call it negative or positive, I call it LIFE.

I like your trigger (actually an anchoring method), I'll try to use it

Joe
