One of the common critiques I'm getting during my student teaching observations is that I need to be more assertive with management issues. (they say it's not a problem per se, but that it can and will create problems if you are not firm in your decisions.) truth being, they are exactly right. This experience has shone a big light on this area, and I'm seeing potential for a huge growth opportunity here. So, what does it mean, to you, to be assertive? (I appreciate all replies, but I will definitely appreciate mire in depth discussions rather than surface comments.) |
