 |  Where Would I Be Able To Find A Free Mattress?
So, I just moved into my new place in San Diego and my landlord said that he would be able to provide a bed. I looked at the beds and they all have rat droppings all over it. Does anyone know where I could find a free mattress? Money is tight, so I was really hoping for a bed.

Lots of people in my city just leave them out on the streets when they want to throw them away. Lots of people grab them then and get some extra life out of them. I'd be mortally afraid of them having been thrown out because of an infestation of some parasite though  That said, I've done it once or twice. I was staying in a big squat and yeah, the matresses in those things are all second hand.

I would only take a 2nd hand bed as a last resort. If you get one with bed bugs you will have a hard time getting rid of them. If I had to get a 2nd hand bed it would be a blow up mattress that was washed first. Bedding isn't really one of those things you want to get used. If you really want to though, look on craigslist I'm sure you will find one.
