Hello my new forum friends! I have had a very compelling personal life mission statement for probably the last 4 months and I can't even describe how much more I have been focused! As human beings, we're on course sometimes and off course sometimes... But I've noticed since I've committed myself to my mission statement, there is virtually no "off course". It's a beautiful thing! So, here is mine: "To be a living example of what is possible with a human life!" Ahhhh! I love it! It's glorious! This keeps my brain and emotions connected to being a great example for people I care about. My wife, child, close friends, family, and customers. It also keeps my brain always thinking, what is possible? Can I be more? Can I be better, faster, stronger? What is possible with my finances, career, physical body, emotions and happiness, family, and spirituality? We are so fortunate to have this online community of like minded people. I don't know about you guys, but in real life... positive and ambitious people are few and far between. I would love to hear your Personal Mission Statements! I'm sincerely looking forward to this! |

Hi Nathan, Here is mine, its a bit longer than yours but it had to be in my case to represent me and everything I want to have and be:-) My ultimate purpose in life is to be happy and successful. To bring love, joy, happiness and relief to my loved ones and those who need me. |

Hmm...somehow I don't resonate too well with mission statements. Maybe they are just too positive for me? Perhaps I should try a negative one, like "To punish and enslave". Hmmm, that made me feel good. Can it be that I am a potential evil overlord? |

It is to look in the mirror one day and tell myself I did it. That I succeeded. To prove to myself, that I can achieve anything I want despite what the world thinks of me. But I also want to keep succeeding in anything I do. I will never stop growing till I die. Push myself to the max.

Mine is as follows: The purpose of my life is to make everyone feel a little better about life and themselves because of having met me. I achieve this by being an example of how to live with passion, joy, confidence and fun, while bringing out the best in others and getting them to enjoy the present moment with me to the fullest. I bring peace into people’s lives by being an expression of the Force and by being a source of strength, calm and harmony. Through my music I express the voice of God, to touch people emotionally and spiritually at the deepest level. My music serves to give them a moment of peace and joy, a celebration of the beauty in life and a connection with the Force. But I am not even REMOTELY close to actually living it! |

Hi Nathan Pardon...I didn't come here to mess up your great thread or anything. Hope you don't mind my adding a few thoughts to it? If you do, no probs with you deleting this post. I used to do Mission Statements. There's nothing wrong with them in themselves...its more about how they are stated. Ive noticed that majority of posters here (including yourself) are writing them in future tense, rather then present tense. The idea of a mission statement is to train the mind to believe it has already happened, so that the focused thought attracts that energy in. For instance...take yours for an example...if you continually put out "To be.....", you're telling yourself that this has not happened yet and chances are it never will because you will always be saying "To be" and never get there. My suggestion here would be to change it to "I am a living example..." Cheers Last edited by Moriarty; 11-05-2011 at 01:12 AM. |

I disagree. Don't want to derail the thread though.

Once you acknowledge you're already an enlightened being, you can save that used time in finding it and utilise it in opening new awareness of 'enlightenment'. Nothing is ever wasted. Last edited by Moriarty; 11-05-2011 at 05:08 AM.

| No it's okay. I just wanted to keep this thread more about mission statements than nuances of enlightenment for the others since it seems a little too niche for general consumption. I think the people interested only in mission statements would appreciate it. How bout if we continue we do it in that post on the mind in the spiritual section if that seems reasonable to you.
