Default Not Feeling Happy... The Cause Of These Destructive Habits And Lack Of Consistency?

Why is it that some days I feel MOTIVATED, INSPIRED and HAPPY?

I wake up and I'm immediately taking action.

I do my Hour of Power, I eat healthy, I exercise, I am productive, I'm
in a fantastic state, my standards are high and I start the day fast,
and finish it STRONG.

And then on another day, it will be the opposite. I feel lazy, uninspired,
unmotivated, I sleep in, I am unproductive, I have low standards, I'm
eating junk food and destroying my body and health. I feel unhappy
and I look for everything that I can to distract myself and change my
state... junk food, surfing the net, movies, sitting on the couch, etc...

I seem to be lacking major CONSISTENCY in my life.

About half the week is GOOD, the other half is BAD.

I take a step forward every week, and then one step back.

I think the root cause of these destructive habits is that I'm not fully
happy or fulfilled... or maybe not motivated enough. Not sure.

But even with doing my HOP and all the self-improvement stuff I do,
like empowering questions, incantations, etc... it doesn't seem to be
solving this issue.

Any suggestions?

There are many reasons that ALL humans go through what you are!

Nobody really knows the mystery of "inspiration". Why some people do amazing things and some don't. Why a person can be lazy one day and a millionaire the next (happens all the time.)

You must not have a big enough inspiration!

It wasn't my intention when I first clicked on your thread, but just today I wrote a great post on what keeps me inspired every day. I have a Personal Mission statement. It carries me through the rough times.

Mission Statements

Hope this helps!

Nathan

I guess you shouldn't rely on inspiration and emotions too much. We are aware and intelligent - and I think we should just leave the emotions behind and push on no matter how we feel.

Yup, I have a suggestion. We all have ups and downs in our lives. At least for you, you recognize the fact. If you can sense pretty quickly on when a 'down' day is about to happen, then I would suggest that you have some contingency plans to help you get motivated again as soon as possible.

I would invite you to take a look at my very first episode of my Motivational WebTV series which was all on the different sources of motivation that I personally use in such circumstances. It will give you some ideas on what sources to use for yourself and hopefully you can draw upon them whenever you need them. The video and article is at Sources Of Motivation.

The ideas presented in the video are what I use for myself to ensure that I get motivation each day. Hopefully, you will get something out of this.

Sounds like a classic case of self-sabotage to me.

Basically, this happens when our beliefs don't align with our desired state. You work toward the "best you," but once you start to reach that state, consistently, you check yourself back down to your subconscious beliefs about your own potential.

I've done this to myself time and time again. The key is to address one's own self beliefs. Train your subconscious to act in your favor. The mission statement idea by Nathan fits well here. That's basically an affirmation to remind his subconscious, and conscious, mind what's important to him.

This is a bit oversimplified, but basically, you may not maintain that state as consistently because you don't truly believe that is who you are.

Thank you, all great points.

Philemon hit it on the head with the beliefs too.

It's now been a month since I've last posted this and not much has changed.

I've hired a Coach and started some reading and stuff, but still struggling with this.

This last week I have sat around bored, uninspired, lazy, eating junkfood, and not wanting to do anything.

Ugh...

Any more advice on how to get myself out of this?
