This is my start, after a long procrastination of almost 1.5 years. I finally have joined the community and decided start my journey towards my Ideal life. I just ask you guys a little bit of support to get started ,like I have seen many others get on this forum. I hope this journey will be CHALLENGING and fun! After going through a lot of Steve's articles I feel that, the first issue I wanna tackle is of self discipline. I accept that I am not exactly very good at this area of my life. But like Steve says it can be exercised and made strong like a muscle, right? Here is a course of action that I have decided to take to start transforming my life:- October goals: >Ace my study materials. >Make 70$ from fileice this month. >Start waking up at 6 in the morning. >Start going to gym again. >Use progressive training, to train in self discipline week by week. Self discipline training for this week(I know just 2 days left). 1>Start getting up at 8 in the morning and the first thing that comes after it is brushing teeth and a bath. 2>Spend at least 3 hours in the morning studying course material. Thats it for this week, I'll update here every night. (I welcome all your thoughts and suggestion on the topic) Let it begin! |

Good luck! If you don't succeed in reaching all those goals, just pick one to focus on. One is a very reasonable number. Reaching one of your goals can be really motivating to go after the next one, while not reaching several goals could be a bit of a downer.

Good work, Agile! Focus on what you DID achieve, not what you didn't Marger - love your 'How to revive your dead blog article! Edit: reading more of your stuff, you are a subtley witty writer. Last edited by CoolBee; 10-08-2011 at 08:11 PM. |

Darn it! My university exams are going on, so my schedule has been really messed up. I've been up all night from the last 2 days... I have decided to put this on hold for till tomorrow. I'll start from the scratch again on Thursday. |

Hi Agile, Altough support is always good, I'd rather be blunt-honest with you. Your struggles are results of a lack of acceptance , and not necessarily lack of self-discipline. If your University exams are messing your shedule, you should first accept that you created the mess, and not the University exams. I really suggest that you take some time to accept that you are falling behind on your studies and fix it, instead of giving you power away by blaming the University on your lack of results. I suggest reading 10-tips-for-college-students and seriously giving it a priority on your new life plan. Luv. Diogo. Last edited by Mudo; 10-13-2011 at 03:53 PM. |

And the article you are talking about that used to be like my holygrail when I started my university, but somewhere along the way I lost it. Thankyou for the reminder. Although I agree that I need to accept this mistake that I have made but still my key problem remains self discipline so I feel it necessary for me to focus on that. We will see how the "Building discipline thing" turns out to be. Last edited by Agile; 10-13-2011 at 08:30 PM. | |

BTW....yesterday's goal: DONE! Now, tomorrow's goal: 1>Wake up at 8 and take a bath before going to college. 2>Just after college stay back in the library to study for at least 2 hours, as I have realized today I need a silent place to study. |

My Internet was down for a past few days, so I was not able to report my progress here... Here is what I have achieved: I have started waking up constantly at 8 everyday. I have taken a bath most of the days. I have now some cultural events going on in my college, so I have to make time for that too in my schedule. Most important things to do tomorrow: 1>Wake up at 7:30 and take a bath. 2>Study at least for 1.5 hours with all the concentration I can manage. |
