To make any new habit stick, you have to do them over and over again. Many feel that you have to do something daily for 30 days straight until it gets into your system. So I would definitely keep this in mind and also maybe try to make the new habit gradual. Good luck.

I am in a similar situation, I plan on changing my habits many of my self defeating habits in the coming months. I will probably put up a post about it in the next few weeks. I would recommend reading Changing for good (Amazon link provided). Its a really good book about behavior change. It states that there are 6 stages to change and depending on what one stage you are in there are certain tasks that you should undertake to ensure that you are successful at changing your problem habit. I am currently in the process of converting the book into a step by step plan that I can personally use to change my habits.

Amazon.com: Changing for Good: A Revolutionary Six-Stage Program for Overcoming Bad Habits and Moving Your Life Positively Forward (9780380725724): James O. Prochaska, John Norcross, Carlo DiClemente: Books

Hey *Kch*,

Don't worry too much about making habits stick or others.
Just start on whatever you think you need to do now.
Starting is everything, make the smallest change you can do today.
And don't think too much.
Whatever difficulties there will be, you will cope them then.

Like those who run hurdles, they know the obstacle exists, they know the race is tough, but they just get off the starting line when they heard the gun, and run through the journey. The rest just became legend

Give yourself the starting signal, and just go run in the direction you think will lead you to better destination
