Hello everyone. I'm going through a very hard period in my life, which is mixtured with common teenage problems, low social life and I'm doing this all by myself. I'm currently in medschool. In my country, the final exam consists of 400 Multiple Choice questions. The university only lets 9% of the students pass to 2nd year. Indeed, they only let 150 students pass out of 2000. I'm also 2 years younger than all the students in 1st year. So the past years i lacked maturity. The problem is that i have been failing this same exam twice and i'm retrying it for a third time. This year is my final chance of succeeding it. It would make me very happy. Indeed the first year i finished 900th because i haven't studied hard enough. The 2nd year , i finished 160th, which means that if i had a better mark than 10 people, i would have passed. (the mark differences are very thin : the 150th can get a 75.56/100 and the 160th 75.5/100 , but the 160th fails.) So this is the 3rd time i'm trying this out... _______________________________ I would like to surpass myself and become the 1st out of 2000 people this year. I'm ready to do anything possible to become 1st. ________________________________ I had many advices on how to excell this exam : all i need to do is know every single lesson (something like 5 000 pages) by heart, all the vocabulary must be known by heart, every page by heart, and not a single detail must be unknown for me. I also need to exercice myself very very often on multiple choice questions to excell. I had also many advices on my life hygiene : i should go out every few days, take some fresh air , and maybe practice a sport to relax. And final thing : i must never lack of motivation... never. That's maybe the most important thing to succeed this exam. Motivation. I get my motivation by remembering me sometimes how great it is to be in 2nd year, how rewarding it is... The last 2 years , i lacked motivation often : i was refusing to work and prefered to relax and procrastinate. This will never happen again from now. ____________________________________ So this is what i decided : -I'd like to share my experience this year on this forum and describe my year like in a journal. -I prepared a schedule of work, how many hours i have to work each day, how much lessons i have to prepare each week, and so on. -I also prepared a schedule to relax, some TV shows each sunday, some video gaming (not more than 30min each week), and some outdoor activities (1hour/2 hours a week) ______________________________________ My Goals : -Be very healthy. Eat, drink and sleep healthy. Exercice regularly. --> duration : at least 1 year -Studying at least 12 hours each day until the 1st part of the exam -Socializing -Studying very efficiently : i will use all my types of memories to learn by heart: listening , visual, writing and comprehensive types of memories. I must be able to know every possible question that will come out in the exam. And the final goal : get a perfect score at this exam to improve my self confidence, my capabilities and my maturity. I know i'm far away now (i was 160th) to become 1st and get a perfect score, but i believe if i continue working all year and if i achieve my goals, i will get this perfect score and ace the exam. __________________________________________ See you next week. @lampion I admire your amount of ambition! Make sure to give yourself some recreational/leisure time atleast for an hour once a day as to keep yourself to continue feeling ambitious and lively each day! I hope for your success in getting that high mark on the exam! |

Hello to everyone. I am back. Sorry i haven't been explaining my progress too much because it's a bit useless i think. I'll explain my progress in big steps. So... i come here just by reading my results of my first test of the year : i finished 1st out of 2000 people. 1st. I've improved overall hygiene, i'm very social and got good friends to support me and i will soon be doing some sports once i become 1st 3x in a row. I didn't work non stop. I worked very efficiently, for 8/9 hours a day at least. And i predicted all the questions in the exam. It made me get a perfect score in a subject. (which is nearly impossible to get usually...) _________________________ I've improved in alot of levels : My progress level : 1/5 : my plan is going perfectly. My motivation level : 5/5 : i can't lose motivation. If i lose motivation, i'll lose ranks in the competition, and i might not succeed the exam. This is important for me. My relaxation level : 5/5 : I'm in perfect hygiene. My social level : 5/5 : just the right amount that i need __________________________ The next step is to become first on next tuesday's exam (out of a few thousands of people again). But this time, i'll get a perfect score in each subject. I need to make the difference with the rest. I need more self confidence, like i used to have not long ago. ___________________________ To sum up if someone is having the same type of challenge in life : -Motivation does all. Some people may ask how motivation comes... -It comes from your inner emotions. The more needy you are, the more you need to get. I used to think that to get extremely high motivation, i had to be very sad about something, or very disappointed. It has no relation with sadness. Motivation is only obtained if you badly need something. ____________________________ My final competitive exam is in a few months. I have to be ready for that as soon as possible, and to review the most i can , the most efficiently i can. My next step is The month of october : i should finish my entire program twice very efficiently by the 30th (2months before the exam) and finished all the application of my lessons. October is going to be the hardest month for me. I have to handle too much self confidence (which can make me stop working) and build even more motivation. I have to regulate my stress and keep a good equilibrium. ______________________ Losing what I want is not an option. |

Factors of success... Is it because i'm writing a journal that i got it well? No. is it because of my work? No. Is it because i'm smarter? no. Only 1 factor of success : wanting to succeed. The higher you want, the more you do. The more you do, the more you adapt yourself. The more you adapt yourself, the closer to "perfection" you become. I think this is the rule for every single challenge a man makes in his life. --- And of course by perfection --- Does success need luck? No. Why? First a man can define what success means, so he is able to succeed anytime. Then, if a goal is very hard to reach (such as my example), the only way to succeed is adaptation (which needs motivation as i said up there.) i hope this can help you become the person you want to become. |
