Default Major breakthrough today :)

I'm so happy today. I got a lot of things done for school. I've realized a couple of things that doubled or tripled my productivity.

Up until yesterday I've been procrastinating a lot. Guess what the reason is. Hanging out on PD forums such as this one and looking for self help products to help with my procrastination. Last weekend I got only 2-3 hours of work done and I was really worried if I went on like this. But this morning I made a realization.

"I don't have to spend long hours looking for productivity fixes. I'm perfect and complete as I am in the here and now. I just need to focus all my energy into the important stuff. That self help stuff can be pursued later on after semester and after I graduate."

Once I let go of trying to improve myself, things became effortless. I had a clear head going to school, during class, and driving back home. Once I got home, I started working on my schoolwork for 6 hours with 2 short breaks here and there. I was just so focused.

Usually I would come home and then get on the computer and surf the internet. Next thing you know it's been 3 hours and the anxiety kicks in. I've learned to procrastinate the less important stuff until the end of the day after I got all the more important stuff done.

Also the more I think about the past and the future, the more mental energy gets drained. I don't know if this is true for everybody but this has been my experience. When I practice mindfulness, I conserve mental energy that I can use to accomplish my goals.

Another thing that helped me is to take it one task at a time. If you have 5-6 tasks that you need to do today. Just focus on the task that is in front of you. That way you won't waste mental energy thinking and worrying about the other tasks. Also take it one day at a time.

Looking forward to an awesome semester

Hope this helps someone.
