I'm recently been given an opportunity where I can either go forward where I am and where historically I've held success. Or I can go back to where I was with a new mindset and conquer things there. Pretty much everything I want to do, get fit and get independent, can be done in both areas. Here, I have to more than there. But there is a lot of people their that 'rely' on me, which is both a reason for guilt for leaving and reasons for going back. There is even a third option of potentially other locations, new locations and new environments but it has its downsides as well. I was wondering if you guys could point me into the direction of decision making processes, insights to help decide this. |

Don't worry about the "others relying on you" point affect your decision. You make your decision. It's your life and the minute you let others affect your decisions, you're no longer in control of your life and doing the things you want to do. Do what you want to. What has the best possibilities for you down the road? Where do you really want to be 10 years from now and which choice would help promote that. Keep thoughts of the long-term in mind and just make a decision soon and see where it takes you. What's the worst that'll happen? Keep your thoughts positive and energy focused on hope and promise for the future to ensure whatever decision you make will be one you're happy with. Hope this helps. To Your Success, Matthew Cluff |

Imagine about yourself in each fork. First, block all the *but ifs*, all your obsessive worries. Just think on the single question of *Would I feel happy to in this path?". Choose the one will make you happiest, most fulfilled. And this single reason would be the most powerful motivation to push you forward, through all the minor difficulties you will encounter in the future |

I want to thank you all for what you've said. I've read the post in the past, and notice that fear is a making a big impact on what I'm thinking. Not wanting to 'go back' instead of wanting to go forward. I am focus on the people as the reasons for holding me back or creating an the negative environment, but I also notice that I do not do or have the pull of a direction. A five minute phone call with the people back home was enough to make me not want to go back. So many problems, so few solutions. Though I think this is only cause I (and they) do not separate myself and my situation from theirs. It becomes a group dynamic. When I try to separate I begin to guilt myself. But deciding on a direction, or a prupose is confusing. Today I opened an email with links the the Anthony Robbins breakthrough stuff, and my identity has shifted from where it was when things of going well, to being of the problem. Where I expect things to continue as they are, and that they are pervasive. I expect to lose. |
