| Hi, Am relatively new to this forum. Hence got a simple and basic question. Is there a concept of "daily progress report" in this forum. I have seen some posts regarding their progress in 30 day trial periods. I am not talking about 30 day trial periods. I am talking about daily activities ( work , things to do at home. ) . Many a time I plan to do certain activities. ( To do lists, prioritized todo lists ). But at the end of the day , many are left undone . Though there can be many reasons for such failures. ( including irrational planning , unrealistic estimates ) . But I think " lack of accountability" is one important reason. I am not accountable to anyone at the end of the day . Actually everyone is accountable to him/herself in case of self improvement . But practically sometimes I feel that I need to commit something publically and hold myself responsible for doing a task and if I dont do it on that day I should be able to analyse with the help of others where I went wrong. Since we are a large group of people here I thought may be we can help each other in such an initiative say for example. Consider the following plan Todo : 1. Job A - 5-7AM ( After 7AM report the progress in the forum thread . (completed, incomplete.. in progress. not even started ...etc). 2. Job B - 8-10AM We can post to the forum at the beginning fo the day and the end of the day if we dont have time to post the results immediately after completing a task. In such a way , we are accountable. ( at the end of the day, need to explain to myself and others where i went wrong) As I have already mentioned, If there is already such an initiative put in place, I apologize for my question ( I might not have searched the forum well) . Have a nice day. |

| Well nothing formal yet. Just start your own thread, like a few others have done. Maybe if enough people want to do these then maybe Steve ought to make a forum called something like "field reports" But yea. This would help people from getting in the rut of just learning and thinking too much about PD without actually applying it. I think I'm going to get cocky myself here in a week or so and post a thread called "My progress toward a billion" But go ahead and start one. |

| Works to be done 1. program a component for a module ( requires some reading and pracitice before developing ) 2. Dinner preparation 3. Cleaning my room and kitchen 4. Practicing Keyboard 5. Read few pages ( for approximately 30 mins) Plan 1. Developing a component ( 8AM to 5PM) Reading - 120 mins - Actual time 10:04AM - Read some articles and currently practicing one sample program. Practice - 120 mins Developing - 120 mins Buffer time & other un planned office work - 120 mins. ( this is my first try . Hence I might need some buffer time) - Actual time - Finished a bit early . But had some unplanned meetings as expected. But I kept the buffer time in place. Hence the main objective achieved. Lunch & Break times - 60 mins 2. Preparing dinner - 60 mins (6PM -7PM) - Didnt have to prepare. Managed with some left overs. ( Used this time to prepare for tomorrow's programming target) 3. Exercise and running - 60 mins ( 7PM -8 PM) - didnt run due to heavy rain outside. - Used this spare time for programming practice 3. Cleaning room and kitchen - 60 mins (8PM -9PM) - No . 4. Practice keyboard - 30 mins (9PM - 930PM) - No . 5. Read for 30 mins ( Life 101 series - Do it! Lets get off our Buts ) - No Though I could not do several of the planned stuffs , I didnt feel guilty since I had to prepare for something more important.
