Default Writing down and resolving my open loops

Ever since I committed to write down and resolve all of my open loops, it seems like there's never enough time in the day... any ideas?

For those unfamiliar with the concept, Getting Things Done by David Allen says any time we are worried or concerned about something, it becomes an open loop. If you write it down, you don't have to worry about forgetting it.. but also you have to resolve it =)

There are many I delete, many I don't want to delete.
I could get better at delegating... I guess maybe I need a *process* for delegating, or it's not going to happen.

What do y'all think?

If you run out of time, you have to really think about everything that you do all day and then prioritize. Quite often, we learn that many of the things that we are doing on a daily basis are really not that important after all. For example, many people can do with watching American Idol.

Once you prioritize, you tackle the most imporant tasks first. If something is important enough for you, then you will make time for it.

Thanks Clint. I have already done many (though surely not all of the basics). A checklist would be helpful.

I have stopped:

-watching TV
-spending as much time on Facebook (though perhaps I could use RescueTime to see how much it is actually eating up... good idea, I'm installing that now! RescueTime.com)

I wonder what other activities I am doing during the day that are eating up all my hours. I should log my time. Some time soon I will log my time. Can someone recommend a good format / tutorial for this?

Logging your time for a week would be a great idea! Just carry a timetable of even notepad with you to log every hour or even 30 minutes - this might be a grind but at the end of the week, I think you will have some very revealing data!
