Default Hi. New member here. My weekly progress report.

hi everyone!First of all nice to meet you all!!
i have been reading steve pavlina blog for about 4 months long , on and off.
i like his article very much . Now a days i decided to write down what i have done and what is my target for each week in this forum!

the main purpose of me doing so is to get to know more friends who are also interested in achieving more in life!I also need some feed back and opinion about what i am doing! ;-)so feel free to give any comment good or bad , i would really appreciate it!

i have been working on target setting and planning things before i do it. But most of the time i fail to accomplish my target and work according to the plan.A lot of my friends also faced the same problem. I then realise the main reason i fail is because i am too ambitious . For example, i normally sleep at 3 oclock in the morning . This is a very bad habit of mine which i wish to change. I read stevepavlina blog about the benefits of sleeping early

I was pretty motivated by it and i took action to sleep at eight early everyday! And yes i did success to follow my plan, but only for one week !! only for one week , then back to my old style. I guess a lot ppl faced the same problem. The main reason i fail to persist is because i am too ambitous. I have been sleep at 3 for years and it is impossible to suddenly change my routine so drastically . After so many attempt of setting target yet failing to achieve it, I get a conclusion that i am too ambitious.

Therefore my weekly progress report is based on the simple concept : IMPROVE STEP BY STEP ,DONT SPOIL YOUR APPETITE OF IMPROVING .

I am a university student , currently taking civil engineering courses. My long term target is to sleep early , eat clean good food and train a nice body with six abs .

Target
Dress nicely, make sure looks good and tidy everyday before going out

The above TARGET is a things i want my self to achieve everyday in a week for last week .I managed to follow to it for the last week! I am so happy for achieving it . It is a simple target , just for a good and easy start for me . It has become a small habit of mine so i must also make sure i follow to it in the future! .

The QUOTE is something i realised during last week . I will only choose one quote each week . A quote is something that i feel, something like self realization when doing daily activity. A quote is to be writen down and to be remember , because sometimes i just easily forget what to be remember yet important.

Please give comment for me to improve!!thanks!!really appreciate !!

4/23( reedited) - today i managed to sleep before twelve ! today is my first day of my second week target!! woke up at five in the morning ! feel so good and energized!

Hello! Great idea to post your progress on the forum. Just thought I'd ask a question since I am trying to progress in the same way that you are. Do you find that during the day you come up with so many ways to improve in the future that you overload yourself and don't know which direction to go? I seem to focus my goals on my area of study, which is music. Do you have a larger goal that all of these smaller goals [waking up at 5, presenting a clean appearance] are focusing on? Sounds like you're doing well... keep it up!

u study music ?! that's great! i love music!

first of all, i understand what u say and thanks for posting here! I also did feel the same like what u did before. Yes i have big goals . But i need to starts from small goals first , which later on will roll into big goals. Small goal accumulate to become big goals.

i always wake up with lots of thought about ways to improve , even until now. yes i agree with u that sometimes do not know which direction to go. Often will feel confuse where to start off , which is most important, then u start to thinking , then u ended up a bit frustrated right?

when i started this week by week target, i still face the problem of having others target that i want to do or have to. It always cross my mind. Yes, i will do the other target that i want , but in the condition of promising my self to pay more attention on the target that i had set weekly first. And i will not make my self to commit to other target. I will only do it when i am free . I will only commit to the target i write in here.

FOR EXAMPLE:
everyday i will wake up and bath , "eat oatmeal " , "posting my progress online" , then WEAR NICELY BEFORE GO OUT. i will also "read newspaper" when i am free and "control my self not to play so much computer" and make sure that i SLEEP BEFORE TWELVE .
( those that are in " " are my not-to-commit target , those that are in capital letter are target i must do)

now my principle is one week one new target , but i will still be continuing doing all the previous week's target. Its like body building's progressively improve.

before this i never do like this.

before this forum my paradigm is different . I set goals. For example, i tried to set goal like " having a six abs in 3 month" . After setting goal, i will start to analyze how to achieve it .

therefore i come out with strategy such as 1. eat clean 2. everyday workout 3.calorie counting 4.balance macro nutrient 5.correction workout 6.six meal a days. But can it be done by me?? the answer is no!

this is what that happen. i started off with the first few days following all the six strategy. And it carry on for one week. But i stop at the second week! lol.!!! so whats the problem??? BECAUSE ITS TOO DEMANDING!!

So now i change strategy . 1. See where i am first . 2. Set a small target(something to start off) 3.Base on what i achieve , improve on it .
This is the new strategy that i use in this forum . The main idea of what i am doing is like the proverb "see step move step " i just totally agree with that , cause goal setting will spoil appetite if its TOO DEMANDING , and this will spoil the appetite of improving .

But definitely its still clear in my mind that what is my main goals are. Like what u have asked, my main goals are mainly GOOD HEALTH . There are a lot things to do , to achieve it , such as sleep well, eat well, do sports everyday, six meal a day. So all this is what i am going to focus in the future.
