Default goal setting help

im sitting down to write out my goals so that I can get on track. Lately I have done nothing.

I can't do it though.
Am I not taking responsibility or letting things overwhelm me?

I did a series on goal setting some time ago using the S.M.A.R.T. system to setting goals. Maybe this will help you, see below:

Goals 101 – Personal Goals (Article 1 of 5)
Goals 101 – Family/Relationship Goals (Article 2 of 5)
Goals 101 – Financial Goals (Article 3 of 5)
Goals 101 – Health / Energetic Goals (Article 4 of 5)
Goals 101 – Career / Business Goals (Article 5 of 5)

Hope this helps you to set goals in all aspects of your life.

Just write quickly and continuously, aim to make a long list, like 50 goals .... Later you can refine it, edit it, delete some, change some, etc etc.

Go on:

1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6. ........

Why do you feel like you need to set a goal? Are you making the setting of goals, the goal itself?

Many times people spend so long preparing themselves for reaching their golas that they never make a start towards reaching them. All this time spent worrying about having not set any goals is time wasted, in my opinion.

You need to just get out and do something - anything. Just come up with one small step (not a whole list) and do that one thing. Tomorrow come up with one more. As time goes on, the "doing" will lead to more and more ideas. And you will be clser to your goals than you ever could be by making lists.

Haha, a to-do list is basically a mundane sort of goals list. Eg:

1. Buy milk
2. Water the plants
3. Post the letter

You should probably try this in a change of location, for example, the public library. Lock yourself in one of those study rooms with pen and paper. See if this makes any difference.
