Default What Do You Find Most Frustrating?

Now that we are at mid-year, I would like to start a thread with this question - what do you find most frustrating in terms of your personal development?

I'm sure that many of us, myself included, would like to progress a bit better by this time of year in certain areas of our life. For me, it would be meeting more compatible dates for example. What about you? What do you find that is most frustrating for you at this time? Let's all share as we will likely come to realize that many of us have very similar challenges in life.

Lack of consistency.

Often enough, I'm ready to kick all kinds of ass in whatever is important.

Some days though, I just am not up for maximum awesomeness. I might be sluggish upon waking, and then catch my groove midday, or I might start strong and lose my mojo during the day.

It doesn't bother me that I need a reasonable amount of downtime. I'm very much OK with that.

What does sometimes bother me is how unpredictable I can be.

I sometimes feel like I'm doing great for a couple weeks and then have one crappy day, while other times I feel like I'm doing great for all of about a day and a half and all of a sudden I'm sluggish for several days.

Probably that people don't see how effortless this can be. They keep chasing and chasing ineffective methods and what not only to be left frustrated and helpless. Very few find something that makes a huge impact. Alot find something that works ok but again either not permanant or they have to rely on some technique. Life should and can be effortless.

I am often told i am inconsistent and it does frustrate me. I start with the best intentions and can become obsessed with certain things for a short while. but i quickly move on, find an excuse to give up or find something which interests me more.

I can't have more than one interest at a time.

The thing is that I become an expert in whatever I am interested in. I learn everything there is to know and after a while I can't take it further so I move on.

Examples are - when I was pregnant i knew more about childbirth than the midwife, then I research bringing up babies and children. Then it was losing your baby weight (twice), then it was freelancing, then vegetarianism and food politics. And so much more inbetween.

So far it has all been about me and only some of it has stuck long enough to be useful.Basically what i want is more staying power.

Thanks for sharing so far folks. It was quite brave and honest of you. I do come across very similar frustrations from other people so these are quite common out there.

My inconsistency. Some days I'm exploding with energy and productivity and others, not so much. I have the planning and organizing of my goals down pat, the execution is a little iffy at times.

Sometimes a change of location helps. Greetings from Mississauga by the way

My most frustrating thing right now is deciding what to do next. I want to start a biz, improve my relationships, and begin a new diet. According to my system, I can only start 1 new thing at a time. The system works - but I need to make up my mind before July - just 2 days away! All these things seem so important. They all seem like they can't wait.

Inconsistency is something I have always struggled with. I am getting much better at it. Here is what I said in this thread. I hope this helps you all out.

Quote:
There has been no level of success that my old self could not snatch me down from. So, I have ditched the idea of a break and I try to stay focused on the task at hand. I used to want to be free of the old me, and to be permanently the improved me. I have found that this kind of thinking has been harmful because I never felt like a new me, I was just doing things more on track with what I identified as being important. In other words, I don't go debate in my head as much - I am doing more and seeing better results, but I don't rely on the feeling of being on track as validation. Why? Because I have results to validate my efforts. The good feeling can come and go. The feeling of the flow can came and go. Sometimes I just feel crappy even tho I am following my script correctly. So, I look to my tracking system to validate my progress, not my feelings. This has made a HUGE difference in getting on track and staying there.

It's a very frustrating feeling to know you could have completed any project you started x months ago by now. But that's the power of consistency for you. One of my biggest challenges right now is taking a few goals and being consistent about my efforts. It produced amazing results on one goal, while others are still in progress.
