Default Deeply need an advice, both personal and work life

Dear All,

i know this will be a long message and thanks if you will have the time to read and give me your advice, actually this is both a question regarding personal life and work life, um an economics graduate graduated around 8 years ago worked in several places however i didn't mange to have a career path, which means i have several skills all related to coordinating, project management, admin. work etc., which is something i am not satisfied with at all, i tried for 2 times to acquire a post graduate certificate once in economics and the second was in finance but i always gave up without finishing, and 3 years ago i got married, and i have a 2 years daughter, my marriage is fine however it is not that kind of life i was dreaming of, maybe it is just reality that i should face, of course there are differences between me and my husband resulting in some problems, it is not the kind of romantic life that i dreamed of living in after marriage the conclusion is that it is not really filling my life. back to my work, i currently have some problems in my work place and i really think of quitting my job for four years now i don't feel i am doing any progress or any personal development plus as the company is facing some problems i nearly have no work plus my work is from 9 till 5:30 which leaves very few hours to me to spend with my daughter, about the salary it is average not good not bad, but i am not contributing in my house expenses, it is just for my personal commitments, which i can afford if l left work from my savings. finally i will come to the thing that i need to listen to your advice in, i want to leave this boring job, but i am afraid of not finding another one easily considering my qualifications, i think of studying and acquiring a diploma may be in project management or something (this may help in finding a future job) which is something i will not be able to do while i am working as there should be time for my home but i am afraid not to do anything and turn to be a married nonworking mother in a marriage that is fine but not totally filling my life. please if you have any experience give me your advice.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not feeling very fulfilled in both your marriage and at work. I can empathize with the latter of the two. I was in a job that at first I felt bored with and then I started displaying signs of depression. I realized that I needed to make a change. It sounds like you're at the same crossroad that I once was at.

Could you tell us what interests/passions you have? Let's forget about the money for a moment and any responsibilities you currently have. What would you be doing? What are a few of the things you loved to do as a little girl?

Sorry I know my questions might seem a little 'off' but I promise you there's a method to the madness

I think you did a great job in identifying many of the things that you don't like or are not going well for you. What I don't see much is where you want to be. I think you have to sit down in a quiet place and for each specific are of life - work, family, relationship, health, etc. - write down just how you would like to see things pan out, ie, have specific goals for each of these areas. Just saying that you want to be happy for example, is not clear enough. You need to specify exactly what will make you happy.

Then after you are satisfied with identifying these goals, set out a good plan to go after these goals. Focus on what you want rather than what you don't want. This will serve you well.
