Over the past two weeks I have let a lot of negative thoughts creep into my mind and has resulted in the feeling of being lost. I'm working on my visualization again and trying to get back on track. Any suggestions, tips, tricks etc on how to remain in line with LOA. It's funny that I'm writing this because in the past when I have been centered I've read these types of posts and wondered how that person managed to get so off-centered.

You are burning yourself with learning how to be conscious. Learning to be conscious is the same as any other skill that you can learn, and if you focus on it for too hard for too long then you are just going to be burnt out, kinda like the feeling you get after cramming for 5 physics finals, and then the two weeks after the finals you just become totally brain dead and everything is fuzzy and it is very hard to concentrate on anything at all, and if you keep at it, it just makes it worse. Well, visualizing takes your brain alot of energy to do to. Instead of learning something, like calculus, you are learning about your goal/just thinking about what you are going for, and learning how to set up your mental habits so that you can think the right thoughts at the right time. But the brain does not treat the two differently, it treats them the same, and is just as intensive and therefore you can burn yourself out if you don't know when to stop and take a break form learning about yourself. So ultimately, to be the most concious that you can, you focus on becoming more concious and then once you feel good and awesome from the feeling of being concious, and reap the benefits, like being able to plan better and things like that, and then the feeling of goodness wears out, then its time to be slighly more unconscious, go down a level or two in the levels of conciousness, so that those neural circuits that you exercised while being more concious can have a time to rest. But then you have to remeber later, after being slightly less concious for a while to focus on being concious again. And you say you lost your focus. Yea same thing. You have to resharpen it, but dont keep on using it while its dull cause its just going to make it be worse and you are going to unmotivated yourself. Give your brain circuits a rest, they have a physical limit to how long and how hard that they can work. So let them recover. After you've taken a break from it, I dont know, a couple of days or so, and you come back to it, then you will be able to jump ahead again. So basically, take like a week break from refining your LOA, or your concious mind is going to associate pain with the LOA and then you are not going to want to try doing it anymore, so just "be normal" for a little while. Check out this post, and look at the 2 links there. My little Progress thread Last edited by Sunnybayes; 04-14-2007 at 02:13 PM. |

Maybe find a focus that is more consuming. To quote an old Amway tape I once heard your post reads like "Please help me, my wants aren't big enough" What are your currrent goals and what would you really like deep down, are you keeping secrets from yourself? Something to think about. |

Yes, I would agree. Sometime your goals subconsciously change but you keep striving for things that you think you ought to achieve, rather than the things that deep, down you actually want to achieve. http://www.thesecretsofvisualization...tionreport.pdf |
