Default Early Risers enjoy greater quality awake as well as quantity?

Hi,

I remembered Steve's blog entry:
How to Become an Early Riser – Part II

Do you think that being awake for more hours in the day doesn't just increase the quantity of goals achieved on a pro-rata basis but that the extra waking time is also of more quality?

Thanks / dhammapal.

I would have to agree with this theory. I am working on getting less sleep but remaining productive throughout the day.

My favorite times to work on my blog are late at night or early morning when the energy level of my environment is low.

The level of quality experienced would be a result of how well rested you are.

I wake up right before the sun rises like clockwork, every day, regardless of what time I go to sleep.

I love the time in the very early morning.

Works for me. I get up for an early morning yoga class every day, and by the time the class is over (8am) I'm full of energy! never expected it, but I found that I didn't need to go to bed any earlier to get up at 5:15am than I did to get up at 7:00am (normal time to get up for work). Of course, depending on your perspective, both of these are early morning times. But waking up at 5:15am + yoga keeps me much more alert all day than waking up at 7:00am + caffeine.

I get up every morning at 5am and use that time to work out, study before the house wakes up. I love early rising so much that I would get up even earlier (and maybe I will tomorrow because my hubby's leaving early)

I have figured out my sweet spot with sleep, and I sure don't need as much as "they" say you do. I highly recommend it

I was reading sleepfaring. In there the author cites a study where people reduced the amount of sleep that they were doing gradually. This was successful, however it was found that people who were successful in that ended up just using the extra time for entertainment rather than anything 'productive'.
