Default My 30 day Challenge

Hi guys!

A quick introduction. I'm 24 years old, currently in university for my masters degree. I have read Steve's posts and I want to take on myself the 30 day challenge. In my 30 day challenge I want to get the habit of waking up at 5:30, stop watching T.V AT ALL and getting back to my diet (i used to lift weights). I am writing this because I want to make a commitment to myself to do it. As I got along, I want to add many more things, but that's what is on top of my head right now.

Considering the fact it's now 1 in the morning and I have to wake up at 4 and a half hours, it's going to take some dedication on my part. That's why I'm writing this here. I am hoping tommorow I'll write an update of how it worked out. Hope that didn't bore you

Hi IsraeliSpeculator,

Sounds like a good plan to me. Yeah, you might be tired the first day or two. But then the tiredness will remind you to get to bed.

Default Day I

Hi guys!

Day 1 report

Well, I managed to wake up at 8:30 and not at 5:30 as planned! The funny thing being that I don't remember even setting the alarm clock off at 5:30! As you can figure out, I am disappointed but 8:30 is still early for me (i wake up at 10 usually). Tomorrow, I am positive I'll make it!

On a positive note, I managed to work out at the gym. The negative note, I catch myself wasting too much time just surfing the net although I have a lot of other more important things to do! I need to work on that.

Hi IsraeliSpeculator,

First of all great to know you have kept a goal of waking up at 5:30AM, but sad to know you wake up at 8:30 next day. On January 16th 2006 I started waking up at 5:00AM and I kept this habbit for 7 consecutive months. Initial 15 days were damn hard but every night before I went to bed I used to read Steve article "Show me your battle scars". And that was the thing that really pumped me to wake up, infect there are few days when I used to go to bed at 2AM and wake up at 5AM. But remember there are only few days in a month or a year when that happens so never break your discipline just to get those extra few hours of sleep. I know I am writing this but trust me I am really going through the pain of regret for not making 7 days a week at 5 AM although I am making 3 to 4 days. Especially Saturdays and Sundays are great days to walk up at 5 as I accomplished many many things I was dreaming to achieve. Si now I promise you from tomorrow I will make it 5AM everyday and every day I will write on this blog

Hey man,

Awesome threads those 30 day challenge logs. Its great to see that you're planning on typing up a little journal on how it went.
I think it works great on just monitoring how you're keeping up. If some days are not as planned, you still keep a record that you can improve on the next thirty days. Like taking it up a notch from where you left the previous challenge.

Default Day 1

It was terrible night yesterday as there was a huge storm and couple of dogs in adjacent building were barking like hell and kept me awake almost all night. But I did wake up at 5:00AM for 30 minutes then again I went to bed and wake up at 7:30AM. If it would have been Saturday or Sunday I have kept myself awake but since I have to go to office and I drive close to 35 kms one way so I better gave myself a little more rest. I think I kept my promise to wake up but kinda feeling regret now…what you guys say.

I also started doing 2 sets (20 reps) of ABS in the morning..I am feeling great now

7:30 is awesome IMO, when you usually wake up at 10. I'm a total nightowl, and today I woke up at 10:40 and I'm congratulating myself for getting up before 11. My ideal is to get up at 9am each morning-- I teach classes late in the evening and if I wake up at 5:30 each day I won't be functioning very well for my last class. Good luck with your goal and consider me impressed.
