Default A Limiting Belief vs Reality

How do you tell the difference between a limiting belief that can be fixed/cured/changed/shifted, etc and something which is rooted in reality and can't?

Or can anything be challenged?

It takes some examination, and asking yourself, when did I decide that? The more you believe it is THE TRUTH about WHO YOU ARE, the greater the chance that it's a limiting belief; if you believe you have some trait or tendency or something that has or hasn't happened that you consider a weakness, it may just be an evaluation, not something that limits you:

I can't dance = limiting belief (probably, unless you're paralyzed)
I'm not a very skillful dancer = evaluation

I'm destined to be alone = limiting belief
I haven't had a lover yet = evaluation

I want to be an entrepreneur, but I'm not the type = limiting belief
I don't have the skills to run my own business = evaluation

Basically, a limiting belief tends to be about what you're being, and an evaluation tends to be about what you're doing.

Interesting, I like that.

So there's a sort of process to be found there.

Choose to turn a limiting belief of who you are as a being into an evaluation of what it is you're doing (or not doing). Then figure out from that evaluation how best to proceed to get better/achieve/learn/grow.

Limiting belief -> Evaluation -> Action -> Change.

I can't dance/I'll never be able to dance -> I'm not a very skillful dancer -> I'll take some dance lessons -> I now dance less poorly.

I've haven't herd anybody mention the evaluation of what your 'doing' before. If your doing something (dancing awfully) then you're not simply that 'something (an awful dancer)', you're just being one at that moment, meaning you can change it (stop dancing completely or learn to dance better).

Nice post,

thanks

My past mistakes and experiences have ruined my life beyond repair= Limiting belief.

Time travel to the past to correct my life isn't feasible, and probably not possible= Reality.
