Most of my friends don't live nearby. We all got homes and/or jobs in different places so it's hard to meet during the year. The new friends I made that are nearby are great but they have a lot more money than me so that means I am unable to accept invitations to expensive restaurants, can't give back quality presents or have fun when it's all money orientated (not their fault but I feel inadequate). Also they don't have jobs and I find myself under pressure to make time to meet. So, I'd like to meet other friends (preferably couples) who have professional lives, like to travel (on a budget) and who we (husband and I) are totally comfortable with (to go to cinema, for a coffee, etc).

2. Write the book!

I intend to write 1,000 words a day, starting today.

3. Travel more

Be able to afford two weekend breaks abroad a year. Maybe Rome and Geneva this year.

4. Live more and give Self-Development less time.

The past few years were growth-years. I am no where near enlightenment but considering where I started maybe this is as close as it'll get for a while. I need a break. I don't mean I need to press STOP (otherwise I'd not be here) but I need to live more what I learned and be my new self and not delve so much in theories for this and the other.

5. Meet Jon Bon Jovi

Ha! Don't ask. I already manifested so much regarding the above that maybe this is the next step.
Why do you want to meet Bon Jovi?

sorry for my curiosity
I have no friends from celebreties because I don't like being friend with them.
I can only help you by wishing good luck.
Good luck,

Default Goals for jan 2011

I am the world's best procrastinator. I will loose my title this month and not even place in the top 1 million.
I will do my exercise tape three days a week, mon wed, fri.
I will attend ALL of the Aqua fit classess scheduled for this month that I have prepaid for.
I will try at least one SPIN class

On the work front. By months end my files will be pared down to a minimum of 50% of what they are now.

My file cabinet will be organized more effectively and I will feel more proud of the work that I do because I am not running to always catch up.

Nah, not too worry.

I know it's not going to make sense if I say celebrities don't impress me at all - but they don't. I'm complicated.

Thumbs up This is what happened in 2011 :)

My main focus in 2011 is LOVE. I want this to be the force which drives me, Loving unconditionally. Less fear more courage. To express. And my self esteem is high!
  1. Bringing all my connections to either fade away (if they are loveless) or deepen into soul connections.
  2. Spending time with my family. Bonding with them in a deeper way.
  3. I form new growth conscious relationships.
  4. I share a loving relationship with a man I admire and accept and respect. Someone who feels like my equal. and most importantly someone who wants a committed relationship with me too! I trust the universe to provide me this in 2011! Thank you. I am ready for love and I approach the new year with an open heart and open mind. We spend a lot of time together bc we love eachother's company. Our relationship is a top priority for both of us.
  5. I give more. Time. Help and whatever I can. I share.
  6. I am grounded. To be in a place knowing I plan to stay there. NYC. Not feeling so temporary.
  7. I belong to a very prestigious gallery in my home and in the USA. we share a great open trusting relationship. And they do a great job at promoting me and my work as well as making plenty of sales. They make a profit from my work, as it sells at high prices and gets plenty of press.
  8. 20 of my works are sold in 2011. by me or dealers where I get a percentage. Including to important collections.
  9. My work shown in an important art-fair.
  10. Solo show in a museum. Or at least have concrete date for that (if not in 2011)
  11. I take part in a group museum show. An important international museum and I take part in important group shows.
  12. I make 3000$ a month from my art
  13. My work receives plenty of press internationally
  14. I buy real estate in the USA. and resell for a profit.
  15. I sell my car at the price I wish. Its an easy transaction.
  16. I rent my apartment at the price I choose, to happy honest tenants who enjoy my place very much. The plumbing works perfectly and so does everything else. Pure joy and comfort.
  17. I live in a beautiful comfortable quiet spacious affordable apartment.
  18. I work in a studio in an artistic environment which is rent free and granted to me because of the quality of my work.
  19. I meet plenty of new curators and collectors ad journalists who present/write about/purchase my work.
  20. I complete my documentary, & receive grants to make it.
  21. I make new exciting touching amazing works.
  22. I Look great! Dress well and look better then ever.
  23. I exercise and stay fit and healthy
  24. I Walk without pain
  25. I stay healthy in 2011!
  26. After I connect to a man from above, I easily get pregnant and we either get married, or just decide to be committed partners. (Of course it could happen the other way around. First get married then get pregnant...). In 2011 I wish to get pregnant with a healthy baby from a man I love and trust and who loves me too

AMEN!

I've got seven, with target dates for each:
  1. January 15, 2011: Unplug from all "web 2.0" (or whatever they're calling it), such as Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn.
  2. January 31, 2011: First SBI website up and running.
  3. June 30, 2011: Second SBI website up and running.
  4. October 31, 2011: First draft of first novel completed.
  5. December 31, 2011: Lose 50 lbs. I cheated by starting on this two weeks early.
  6. December 31, 2011: 20% reduction in debt.
  7. December 31, 2011: be a father, or at least have a very pregnant wife.

I've got some pretty specific plans for achieving all of these, which I won't go into here (okay, you can pretty much guess how #7 is gonna happen). But you know what I mean.

Well about a year ago this time I had a very deep and moving spiritual experience. It was the second one of my life (about 9 years apart) and it changed the course of my life forever I'm sure. As a result I pretty much made it a goal to go as far spiritually as I can in this lifetime. I was making very quick progress but the other parts of my life were no where near keeping up. I want to experience life too and of course that will help me grow spiritually. I realized the only two things I felt I needed to be happy an intimate relationship with a well matched for me woman, and financial security. Not to be a millionaire but just not to have to worry. So my goals for the coming year and for life are that it kind of goes like this, in the order of priority with each lower tier being things that I think will help with the one above.

advance spiritually > start relationship, acquire financial stability > whatever will help advance those

Over the past year I dropped a 15 year drug habit (anything I could get my hands on) and most of my previous friends (with a couple exceptions.) I planned to get the relationship and the job this last year. Instead I spent most of the year recovering mentally and physically from all the crap I'd put my body through for the second half of my lifetime. So now over the next year I would really like these two goals: A relationship, dating around to find a good match and making friends. I feel really ready to do both of these. I've had some issues in these areas in the past but I'm starting to feel really good, confident, and really ready to do the things I would never do in the past to make it work. Financially I think it could be a longer road. So my goal there is to get educated financially really look into my options and be able to make an educated decision about how to best proceed, whether it be education trying to start some kind of web business, saving and then investing money or some combination of the above. I actually got a technical certification and a job in that field this year, and although I learned some important lessons, it undeniably just wasn't a good match for me and now I am unemployed. I am going to take the rush out a little bit and make a more educated decision this time.

Wish me luck.

edited for leaving out half a sentence with an important detail in the second paragraph.

I don't feel like typing it out right now, as I have described this experience once or twice on these forums before. I will come back later or maybe just PM you when I feel typing it out. In the short term though I experienced a full fledged satori experience that wasn't just a fleeting second as I understand they often, but rather several hours.

I'm resistant to goals at the moment. I'm more concerned with ways of being, as those changes are always more pervasive. One of the things I'd like to be this year is making friends where ever I go. Connecting deeply or simply forming allies, I'm open to all levels. I'd like to have some awesome face to face conversations, and become more emotionally involved with people in meat space.

Just thought of a good goal while laughing at youtube video comments pertaining to feminazis: stop laughing inappropriately . Sure, I can make these people into a source of personal amusement, but in doing so, I am overlooking genuine anger, frustration and insecurity. I am devaluing them as human beings. I want to respect and understand people for who they are regardless of whether or not I agree with their convictions.

Just thought I'd share since I'm not the only one who gets hit with inappropriate laughter at another's expense.

What about teaching others to laugh with you? Promoting laughter as the new way of living?

May be. I'm not sure how you would go about doing that in a politcal discussion without possibly siginaling to the other person that you are trivializing their perspective though.

Default goals for 2011

Here are my two quick replies:

1. Become a DTM by March 2011.
2. Hold an inspirational bootcamp in March 2011.

And I will be back for more. I need to wash the dishes first.

Depending on if I'll be able to get a job before I return to school in the summer, I want to successfully adapt to polyphasic sleep for more than 30 days. I want to pursue the Dymaxion sleep cycle (a 30 min. nap every 6 hours).

I read somewhere that Buckminister Fuller was/is the only person to make himself efficient while pursuing this cycle for more than a month.

All the tools have been gathered (Found Steve in June 2010, got an mp3 player to listen to podcasts and audio books, joined Toastmasters, made it a habit to get up at 5).
As of now I haven't figured how best I can contribute. Before even thinking about contributing, I feel the need to grow as discussed by Steve in his 1st podcast. So the one and only priority for me in 2011 is to grow GROW in every possible way. By the end of 2011 I want these to be manifested.
1) A bodyweight of 70kg and sick free throughout the year
2) A great Communicator - (Just did my Icebreaker in Toastmasters. I aim to finish the CC manual)
3) To have a great number of friends who are interested in PD and growth.
4) If the bell chimes and the bulbs glow when I see a girl, to fall in love with her and experience human relationship in depth
5) The first Rupee/Dollar by means of a side hustle

These are just a few things. I'll come up with more specific goals and action plans when I'm done with the exercise on finding the purpose and examining the health status of the 12 items that Steve listed in his 2nd Podcast (Health,Social, Finance, Spiritual, Family, Fun, Mind etc..)
I can't wait to know how the December of 2011 will turn out for me!!

Please use this thread to discuss your Goals and Intentions for 2011.

My personal goals and intentions for 2011?
To get my left hand working again where it's been paralyzed by nerve damage. I exercise and massage it every day know it will work again just fine just a question of when...hope it's this year soon.
To be really connected with everything I do and not ever to do anything mindlessly. Not ever to walk in a woods while thinking stupid crap or texting on the phone, instead of just thinking "woods".....
For my friend in ICU to recover miraculously and come back again.
To play more frisbee with my dog.
To maybe get the 67,000 someone owes me ! That would be fun.

It just struck me BTW....To continue spending less money on food sounds like the most boring horriblest experience in human knowledge...and a downward slope to malnutrition.....

I've set the following goals for myself for 2011 (way after 2011 started):

Never to get as de-motivated as I've been for the last 6 months (2011 and beyond)
For the last 6 months, I haven't really felt like doing anything to grow. I was very de-motivated about my field of study and because of this, I didn't feel like growing in any part of my life. Something I greatly regret now. In order to never let this happen again I will......

Immerse myself into Personal Development
Last week I decided I had to do something about my de-motivated state. I decided to read a book explaining why we do the things we do, and how this knowledge could help me enhance my life. This book got me further looking into Personal Development in general, which really got me hooked into Personal Development. What an interesting field.

My goal is to read at least 8 books on Personal Development this year and apply the knowledge I gain in my life.

Communicate with (new) people
I'm an introvert person. The last years I've really never attempted to connect with (new) people or really communicate. Instead I only really communicate with people I already know and even then, not so much.

I don't like this. Deep down I want to communicate with people. In order to work on this goal I will make more of an attempt to communicate with (new) people. Posting on this forum is my first step.

Take actions
I've always been the kind of guy who reads books and (over-)thinks, but never really takes action on the things I read and think about. Instead, I read more books.

This year I want to rid myself of this habit. I will take actions when I feel like I'm over-thinking, and I will apply the knowledge I gain by taking specific actions.

Start a blog
I will start blogging. My goal for this blog is to share the knowledge I already have and the new knowledge I gain from reading, and help other people this way. Another reason for starting a blog is to gain a better understanding of the things I read about by writing about it myself.

With my blog I want to help people in ways I can. My goal is to have at least 500 subscribers by the end of this year.

Graduate cum laude
I'm currently in my last year of obtaining my bachelor's degree. I want to obtain this degree cum laude with an average grade of 9/10 and a lowest grade of 8/10. In order to reach this goal I will keep going strong as I have been doing last years.

It's nice to meet you all
