Default What are Your Favorite Quotes?

Hey Guys,

I love quotes and I thought it would be cool if we could all share our favorites.
Here are some of mine:

"You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want."
~ Zig Ziglar

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world."
~ Mahatma Ghandi

"Life is either a daring adventure, or it is nothing."
~ Helen Keller

“The moment I start hating man, I become his slave” ~ By Dr. McMillen. I wrote about it in my post Why You Should Just Get Over It and mentioned how it helps me to gain a little bit more time and sanity in my life, but not letting other people stress me out.

Slavador Dali was once asked in an interview if he took drugs in order to create his most fantastic works. His answer?

"I don't do drugs. I AM drugs."

Nice.

And a bonus...

"I drank what?" Socrates

People are just about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
- Abraham Lincoln

Be kind to unkind people - they need it the most.

Spend the night dreaming. Spend the day fulfilling those dreams.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things
you didn’t do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines.
Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore. Dream. Discover.
Mark Twain

"I'm alive," he said to the boy, as they ate a bunch of dates one night, with no fires and no moon. "When I'm eating, that's all I think about. If I'm on the march, I just concentrate on marching. If I have to fight, it will be just as good a day to die as any other."
"Because I don't live in either my past or my future. I'm interested only in the present. If you can concentrate always on the present, you'll be a happy man. You'll see that there is life in the desert, that there are stars in the heavens, and that tribesmen fight because they are part of the human race. Life will be a party for you, a grand festival, because life is the moment we're living right now."
- The Alchemist

The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it. - Michaelangelo

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds. - Albert Einstein

Though I might travel afar, I will meet only what I carry with me, for every
man is a mirror. We see only ourselves reflected in those around us.
Their attitudes and actions are only a reflection of our own.
The whole world and its condition has its counter parts within us all.
Turn the gaze inward. Correct yourself and your world will change.
Kirsten Zambucka

This thread wouldn't be the same without some Bruce Lee quotes.

Killer Bruce Lee quotes...not to shamelessly plug my own website, but I've got a "featured quote" that loads everytime you visit (or, for that matter, refresh the main page). I've got over 400 of my favorite quotes so listed ranging from the funny to the profound.

The Prophet's Place--sophisticated diversions for intelligent men

Here's the random quote that just loaded when I visited my site:

“In life, you don’t want to be just lucky; you want to give yourself the edge to win every time” --Evel Knievel

I have a notepad file on my desktop where I keep all the good quotes that I come across. Here are a couple of my favorite.

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Every human being on this earth is born with a tragedy, and it isn't original sin. He's born with the tragedy that he has to grow up. That he has to leave the nest, the security, and go out to do battle. He has to lose everything that is lovely and fight for a new loveliness of his own making, and it's a tragedy. A lot of people don't have the courage to do it.
-- Helen Hayes

Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those that hustle.
-- Abraham Lincoln

One of my favorite quotes from Abraham Maslow is, “A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself.”

Also from Maslow: "The story of the human race is the story of men and women selling themselves short."

I am a Carl Roger's fan I really like is by him.

"Yet the paradoxical aspect of my experience is that the more I am simply willing to be myself, in all this complexity of life and the more I am willing to understand and accept the realities in myself and in the other person, the more change seems to be stirred up.
It is a very paradoxical thing - that to the degree that each one of us is willing to be himself, then he finds not only himself changing; but he finds the other people to whom he relates are also changing"

Hi,

I post some of my personal quotes here ... tell me if you like it ...

"Nothing and no one is greater than or lesser than the self." -The Wonders

"Nothing and no one can harm you unless you choose to allow it." -The Wonders

(which is similar to Eleanor Roosevelt's comment "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" but far vaster.)

Great quotes friends, thanks for sharing.
