Post Death of my Number One Fear!!!

Hi all,
After finding Steve about 3 months back, I started to revamp my life as much as possible.
Stage Fright was one thing that was bugging me even in my dreams, so I joined Toastmasters last month and yesterday I gave my project 1 Icebreaker speech. Due to intense practice, the nervousness was simply not there!! I wish I could upload it in youtube and paste the link here but my pace was extremely fast as I was literally vomitting words from the mugged up speech and my body language was simply the worst!!! So the video of the speech is for me to be laughing at Nevertheless, I consider it as a success as my number one fear, Nervousness, was gone right in the first speech!!! But here's the draft.

I was born on the 100th day of my favourite year 1987. Favourite because I was born on that year. My zodiac sign is Leo. Not that I believe in Astrology or Planet Alignment but my SuperHero Arnold Schwarzenegger is also a Leo. So I thought “Same Pinch”.
Fellow Toastmasters and Welcome Guests, A very Good Morning to all of U! The ingredients of this incredible package are : My Likes and Dislikes, Goals and Desires, Strength and Weakness, Friends and Family and Hobbies and Passion. 6 minutes isn’t much time to get acquainted with the entire package, but it’s just enough time to give a feel of the package.
Of the many activities I’m passionate about, one thing stands out as my favorite. And that is Bodybuilding. I have been into Bodybuilding for about 7 years now. I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Bodybuilding over the years. But off late, the bonding between us is so strong that I don’t think we’ll ever part ways anymore. Bodybuilding is the number one Stress buster for me. No matter how much enervated I'm after a tough day at work, when I enter the Gym, my pupils get dilated and I'm as happy as a Child who has just seen a Chocolate. The sense of euphoria that I feel after a workout is second to none. Pushing 135 pounds of cold iron off the chest in a bench press or doing 10 or 12 or even 15 pull ups or finding those 6 diamonds in the abdominal area.. those are all instant immense gratification. I’m in heaven when I experience that. It's the same as the sense of euphoria YOU experience when you are given the Best Table Topic Speaker or Best Toastmaster Certificate here. It’s just a small certificate but I know how great you feel when you get that. It does wonders to my Confidence, Attitude and Discipline, just as the certificate does to you. The reason I'm so much attracted to Bodybuilding is that I consider it as a miniature model of life. I can easily relate Bodybuilding to any success or happiness philosophy. For eg, in Life, a successful person , an Outlier, is someone whom we all perceive as hard-working, diligent, and someone who is willing to go the extra mile, just when the Ordinaries would stop because it is simply beyond their comprehension. Isn't that right? Same way in Bodybuilding, the difference between the Big Guy and the little guys is the last 2 or 3 repetitions the Big Guy is willing to do never bothering about the pain that it will cause. I want to be the Big Guy in Gym and in Life.

I also love to write. I use it as a tool to glue myself to my goals and dreams whenever I feel that I’m distracted or I’m out of track. I started writing just to improve my writing skills by writing about various random prompts that I found online like for eg., one prompt was, "You are about to attempt your first Skydive. Write down the experience." After writing for only 15 minutes, I was profoundly sweating. Another prompt was to write about having a conversation with the Bugs in the house. After writing about that, I stopped killing Mosquitoes and Ants. I bet not many can boast of that right?! However I still use pest control agents that kill Bacteria to clean my Living room and Toilet! Somewhere a compromise has to be made! Anyway soon I realized what writing was doing to me and since then it’s been with me. Simply writing about what’s in the mind was more enjoyable than hearing music or watching movies.

I have many Goals that I want to achieve in my Life. My top priority Goal now is to finish 10 projects and become a Competent Communicator by August 2011. This goal is designed to kick my number one fear – Stage Fright out of the system. My number two goal is to jump off a flying plane from an altitude of about 14000 ft. This goal is designed to kick my number two fear – Acrophobia – fear of heights. I’ve already done some research on this part and found that it costs only about 300$ and less than 1% of the jumps fail because of Parachute failure. I figured that I could afford to take that chance. I also want to say at least a “hi” to my SuperHero, the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, when he comes out of his office in California.

If I ask myself who am I? Who am I in the inside really? The honest answer would be I’m a growth oriented individual. As a growth oriented individual, I realized that the path for growth lies nowhere near me. But it lies just a LITTLE BIT outside of my comfort zone. Sometimes the distance between these two points is surprisingly very small. For example, it’s just 10 feet from that place where I sat comfortably all my life as one among the audience, never daring to get up and be noticed to this place where I’m now giving the Dream Speech of my Life before a group of some of the elite speakers I look up to. It’s just 10 feet. This was what Emerson would have thought about when he said, “When a resolute young fellow steps up to the great bully, the world, and takes him boldly by the beard, he is often surprised to find it comes off in his hand, and that it was only tied on to scare away the timid adventurer." I would like to consider myself as that resolute young fellow and when faced with things that would resist my growth, I can’t wait to grab the beard and make fun of the bully.

Well that's a very very small glimpse of who I am. For more details contact me @8095536527. I thank Toastmasters for this Opportunity to share myself with all of you and I'm happy to be a part of such a great and supportive group and I look forward for more learning experiences here. Toastmaster! The stage is yours now Sir!!!
I just felt like sharing it as I'm extremely happy that I've done it and it only makes me to live a more conscious Life as the benefits are simply awesome and I can't afford to lose all that!!!

The money, the manifestation, the life, the love, the happiness, the friendship, the relationship - Life is simply amazing and I can't wait to get more out of it!!!!

note : btw the name given in the speech is my real name!! Can anyone tell me if it's possible to change my username in the site?! I've been trying to do that and no success yet
