Now taking Free Art/Sketchwork commission requests

In an effort to both a) improve the quality of my drawing skills by challenging myself and b) build up a portfolio of artwork so that one day i might even be able to consider going pro with the stuff, i'm now offering up free artwork/sketch commissions for all members of the board.

Simply put; want me to draw you something? Then go ahead and ask me. Your description can be as simple or as complicated as you want. List characters, shows, of all sorts of genres and all sorts of art styles and i'll give it a go. My personal aim here is to improve above all else so even if it looks like it might not be my style from the work above go ahead and ask me to draw it anyway and at the very least i'll give it a go and you'll get a free jpg file for your troubles regardless.

You can ask me to draw anything. Anything... either by asking me in this post or sending me a PM.

I'll aim to get the picture back to you in a few days after i've acknowledged your request (if you want it fully coloured you may have to wait a bit longer. All i ask for you after that is a little critique of my work (which you would have probably gave later anyway) and to be able to post it up on this board and me deviant art account afterwards (though if you want me to keep it private, that's fine too).

So go ahead and ask me what you want.

There's something I've been wanting a drawing of, actually. I have an image of a somewhat-cartoonish "wolfchild" character, in the forest, in a loincloth, facing the viewer, and kind of holding a spear in his right hand, maybe as though he's currently out hunting. He might be wearing some other "forest/tribe life" trappings, maybe a handmade necklace.

Hi, I have this idea for a story and I have the main character in mind... only thing is, I can't really draw her... So could you do it for me?

She's about 14/15 yrs old, average height, really skinny, and wears clothes that are far too baggy for her (I'm imagining her in shorts and a t-shirt, but feel free to draw something else). She doesn't really care about fashion :P Anyway, facial features-wise, she has a mischievous grin, a snub nose with freckles, and really frizzy, sandy-coloured hair. (Feel free to experiment with eye colour ) I hope you can do this for me, I'd really appreciate being able to see this in front of me!

I would like a picture of a character I created named Tenebrae the Dark. He is tall and thin, not to mention a demon. One of his hands is normal, holding a bolt pistol (As seen here: http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs12/i/20...y_Orgun246.jpg ), and the other is large with claws. As to his face, it looks kind of like this: http://images.wikia.com/fable/images...he_Crawler.jpg . He has two twisted ram's horns. On his back are folded wings, and I would like if the picture showed him silhouetted. Sorry if this is too specific and makes me seem pushy but I'm not an artist, I'm a writer. I would like a character of mine to be drawn. He is around 6' and 20 years old. His muscle profile is strong, and noticeable, but not ridiculously large. He has black, spiked hair (not too spikey!), and blue eyes. He has pointed ears, going against his head (not pointing out) and are slightly covered by his hair. In this picture he is bare-chested, and musclular. He is wearing dark jeans and is barefoot. His facial expressions is stern, but welcoming. His right hand has a blueish energy around it, and the other is just by his side. He is leaning against a wall. There does not have to be a background.

This is a creative and fun idea, but if you want to go pro I'd suggest investing more time into fundamentals. Mastering values, shape language, and anatomy will help you build a stronger system to execute character design and other aspects of your art.

You have to be aware that you're essentially working with 3 very different skills.

Creativity = ideas, concepts, perspectives
Design = interpreting, problem-solving
Craftsmanship = Pencil mileage and experience

Hope that helps as you approach some of these challenges.
