I've had this issue for a long time, though it has not bothered me much during college since I majored in engineering. I will go into a field (epidemiology) that involves more reading and writing, so I am concerned. I found programs called "IdeaChain" and "Visualizing and Verbalizing" that could help. Before I put down money, I wanted to see if there are other ways to solve the problem. Could it be a psychological issue, instead of a reading comp issue? Do I just have a strong aversion to books? Are there any other programs that can help? Any input would be appreciated. Last edited by Man; 11-03-2010 at 08:50 PM. |

I've been able to read material and memorize the details. However, I've never been able to understand the material. I am not able to tell another person the main point of the article, book, etc. Mental images help better understand the material. |
