I've read the last two on the list. I think I might benefit from reading the Tony Robbins book again at some point but first, more action.

Good list, though I'm not a fan of #24. I'm familiar with most of those books, though I've only fully read a few.

I'm a big fan of Brian Tracy but of all those listed, I think As a man thinketh by James Allen is the most vital. It's a much more simple book than many of the others listed - but it focuses on the most powerful idea: our thoughts control our lives. We can steer our own ship.

I didn't like 24 because I think it's simply bad advice. I mean, it's good to think about personal finance but imagine where you would be right now if you'd bought a tons of houses and the recession hit?

The best advice is the most simple: assets are what provide you value via cash or appreciation, liabilities are what make you owe and lose money. Invest in assets!

I tend to shy away from authors who make a living by writing on how to be successful. Guys like Tony Hsieh, for example, are too busy running a successful company like Zappos to write 10 series of books that rehash the same ideas.

Robert Kiyosaki is good on ideas but never provides specifics or details on how to achieve those good ideas.

I like authors who share good ideas AND how to achieve them. It's one thing to say that "exercise is good for you", and it's another to say, "exercise is good for you and this is how I did it."

Did you apply any of the techniques? There should be a stark difference between someone who applies the techniques in those books compared to someone who doesn't.
