is it the flowery words and difficult terms or simple words that is easy to comprehend? For me what matters is: i would rather make it simple and readable than those of deep words that only einstein can understand. what's yours? |

According to society, or what I've observed, smart means being able to pass flawed tests and recite useless information on the spot. To me, being smart means being able to get what you want out of life. And I express my intelligence everyday by smiling |

What makes me smart is an ability to learn and adapt. There's so many different techniques for how to learn, it's quite astounding. Once you've figured out what a particular technique is good for, you can use it over and over for efficiently learning huge amounts of information. My last course required me to learn the characteristics of over a hundred landscape plants, many of which I've never even seen. Using a simple memory system, I memorized all of them. No cramming, no hours of boring study. Ten minutes here, ten minutes there. One thing that I've recently discovered is handy for me is looking to the past to learn about the present. Chemistry and physics have always plagued me since I just can't get it to click. I recently read a book about the history of those sciences and suddenly concepts that never made sense were clicking left, right and centre! Instead of being told, "This is how it's done", I got to see why it's done that way. That really helps. Finally, interaction with the world. Find people who didn't grow up with TV and be prepared to marvel at how advanced they are. TV takes everything and gives nothing back. Everything in moderation I suppose -Tim |

| yeah I get that too lol, I don't really have that many people to satisfy my need tho. They always take things personally, like what we are debating actually matters as anything more then the words they are made up of.

You know, even I take things personally. It doesn't matter though. 1) I want to learn to be less emotional in debates, 2) it's about find out the wisdom or the truth not to win against the person. That's what most people probably don't fathom.

I have a loud deep voice in person, being as I'm Russian, and the more excited I get about a debate, the louder I get. People take that badly, even tho I might sound like I'm angry, even tho I'm actually happy and excited. I've been told many times on this forum that I have good points, but present them the "wrong" way. And I can agree with them, even if I don't actually say that to their face lol

I haven't been told that but I know that I become much louder as a discussion evolves and also seem like I'm yelling however I'm just becoming passionate. But we are awesome, I mean we acknowledge a challenge and we probably know what we need to do, right right?

Maintaining a balance of artistic and analytical outlets in my life allows me to thrive in both. If my life becomes too left brained or too right brained I become miserable and lose my creativity.
