Hi guys and gals, One of the hardest things I am struggling with in improving myself is having a system that charts, compliments and organises my growth. Do you have a computer program or app that you use for goals, things you need to do, reminding your self of daily routines etc? Like I am driving along today and think of things I need to do, I then record them in my iPhone but know that the reality is i am never going to listen to that again, or transfer it to a todo list etc and then it just get lost. I'd love to know of the systems people have in place, it would be a real help. Thanks |

I'm about to get an IPhone, and I found that this was the best possible app for managing appointments and a schedule: Productivity App > Movers & Shakers > Day-Timer iPhone Calendar/Tasks But specifically for goals, tasks, and large projects, I happened to stumble across this WONDERFUL piece of software that takes the concept of "mindmapping" and applies it to goals: GoalEnforcer - Goal Setting, Goal Planning, Goal Managing I'm using it to manage a couple of really big projects that I'm working on. It helps greatly to put everything into a visual perspective as opposed to just a "list of things to do". -AR |

On my laptop, I'm learning to use GoalPro software to get my life organized and setting goals. Goal Setting Software - GoalPro 7.0 Another software The Journal is helpful too. Especially with Steve Pavlina tempates in it. The Journal - Securely Record Your Private Thoughts Last edited by Kornel; 10-09-2010 at 05:04 AM. |

My system is using a pen and a diary The act of writing out the goals gave me goosebumps when I initially started doing it. I use the journal software to write out what happened during the day. As for keeping track of the goals, I use some features on my phone to remind me of the the tasks that I need to do in the day or on a specific date and time in future. |

I am using a combination of outlook with a blackberry. This works really well as on the blackberry you can have a task list + calendar and everything just syncs up with minimal fuss, also I find that with the keyboard I can type very quickly. You should be able to do the same with the iPhone. Why don't you just try to use the inbuilt calendar app and task list on the iPhone? A nice trick that works for me is if I have something that I don't want to deal with right away I set a calendar appointment for a weeks time and then forget about it. Then the calendar appointment comes up and I deal with it then. This stops my task list from getting to big. Another trick is to set up a visual reminder. E.g. if I have to unload the washing machine, then I put a basket in front. The only difference between someone with a good memory and someone with a bag memory, is that the one with a good memory has some good habits in place. | |

Personally I have a list of daily, weekly and monthly goals in my little note pad. I set time aside each day to review those goals. My daily goals are all completed in the morning using timeboxing. More tricky are weekly and monthly goals as these can get "lost". So, my weekly and monthly goals are completed during my daily goal review time. I normally set aside around an hour a day for these goals. If they need more attention I will transfer componant parts of each goal to my daily goal list to be complete in the timebox. I also have a "diary sheet" on an a4 piece of paper, which I create froma spreadsheet, with my week planned out, which includes time to review and complete my weekly and monthly goals. I am happy to send you a copy if you PM your email to me. I have struggled for about 5 years in finding a decent time managment/goal achievement method and at the moment, this one works nicely for me. It isn't complicated or technology dependent so I am not attached to my computer if I need to achieve something. I have pen and paper! Hope this helps |

I've tried various programs but nothing works for me like a good old wiki. I just write it all out and keep it organized. The nice thing about a wiki is that it keeps history of everything you've written too. This is the wiki I use: PBworks - Get Started in 60 Seconds |
