Default A Menagerie of Personal Development--A 30 Day Trial

I keep hesitating to do this for some reason and I have no idea why. So today, I've decided that I'm just going to do it. (I think my hesitation stems from whether or not something like this will be allowed on the forums or not, but the way I see it, if it's not, the friendly and most gracious moderation team will kill the thread and that will be that. But FIRST, hear me out! )

Anyway....

Let's see what I can get up to in 30 days. And that is, I am literally going to follow Steve's most profound business advice:

To create and deliver as much value as possible.

And that's what will happen right here in this thread. I want to see the power of that for myself, by using but one thread on one internet forum and see where it takes me and how much I can generate, and how that value might be returned to me. So here we go....

This thread will serve as a hub for several things, and I am setting the intention right now to be so busy with this thread that it spills out my yin yang.

*****

First and foremost, I will mention the services that I offer. These services are things that I do off the forums, for you, for a fee. If you are interested in any of these things, send me a PM and we'll hash out the details and pricing:

1. Freelance writing. This includes blog content, website content, and anything else you might need a freelance writer for.

2. Website building. This is the biggie right now. I can set you up with a wordpress powered website, with whatever pages you want, add plugins that I think are powerful and effective, add as themes that you like, and get it all ironed out seamlessly for you without the hassle of doing it yourself. I know that it's not hard to do this yourself, but sometimes you just don't want to go through the hassle of the front end stuff and it's easier to just outsource it to someone else. Here's what will make me different from the others who build these websites: I can do it cheap, and I offer extensive follow up counselling/coaching to help you learn the ropes so that you can maintain it yourself.

3. Life coaching. This is beyond mere gremlin/possibility stuff that I was offering. This is helping you redefine yourself in the ways that you've seen me do so here on the forums. You must be committed to 100% desire to help yourself and to take responsibility for getting the results you want.

Those are the three biggies, PM me for rates/scheduling/etc. If you have a task you want completed that doesn't fit one of these, go ahead and PM me anyway and I'll let you know if I think I can do it for you and what I would charge.

******

Ok, that's the upfront, off-site stuff. Now it's time for the purpose of THIS particular thread. In this thread, I will post a boatload of FREE stuff on things I've learned and experienced. If there is a particular subject or idea that you would like to see me explore in this thread, post about it and I will explore it in as much depth as I possibly can (and you've seen my chattermonkey mind at work, so you know what you're getting ).

If I don't get any requests for subjects to talk about, I'll choose them at random and post random writery/personal developmenty type of stuff that comes into my head.

My goal is to make this thread as deep and valuable as possible and it's a big old carnival of personal development/discussion/insights/financial abundance.

Without further ado, challenge me peeps. I'm ready for this and this starts right now and ends Nov. 7, 2010.

P.S. Please note thedailycreation link in my sig now has a Donate button in the sidebar. If you receive value from something you read here, please consider motivating me to do more by making donations. Donations are not required, but they are very much appreciated.

I would lie you to post (as I have wondered this before) The books or resources that you get the ideas for what you do from. I have seen you post the 4 questions you ask yourself here. you know: is this true, am i sure it's true, etc.
And also the kind of stuff we did in the sessions we did. Where did all this come from?

As for the most of what we did in our sessions, most of that came directly from my experiences with Angela (here on the forums). At the time, I was using that session as training wheels into the world of coaching. So, for the whole gremlin/possibility thing, I think you would learn quite a bit if you started actively picking Angela's brain and even did a session with her. (She has all sorts of tricks up here sleeve...moreso than what we did. ) From what I've gleaned, the gremlin/possibility stuff came from The Landmark Forum (I think) and parts of Marty Lefkoe and Byron Katie's worka as well as her training in NLP through transformdestiny.com. (She could clarify that more, though)

The four questions comes directly from Byron Katie's "The Work." (google it and you can find more info on her and on the books she's written)

And now, for my ultimate list of personal development reading material, the host of books I've read that I have gleaned most of my knowledge from and where most of my ideas were formed or given birth to:

Conversations With God by Neal Donald Walsh (more spiritual in nature, but this is an AWESOME collection of books in terms of personal development)
A Thousand Names for Joy by Byron Katie
A Man's Search for Meaning by Victor Frankl
Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins
Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins
Shut up, Stop Whining, and Get a Life by Larry Winget
It's called Work for a Reason by Larry Winget
The Tao of Inner Peace by Diane Dreher
Awaken the Buddha Within by Lame Surya Das
The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
The Success Principles by Jack Canfield
Personal Development for Smart People by Steve Pavlina ()
The Right to Write by Julia Cameron (works as a personal development book I think)
The Basic Writings of C. G. Jung (Modern Library) by C.G. Jung and Violet S. De Laszlo
On Becoming a Person by Carl Rogers
An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jameson
A Million Little Pieces by James Frey
I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb (fiction, but it's highly psychological and insightful)
The Book of Pook (found here for free: http://www.jbspencer.com/djb/Downloa...0of%20Pook.pdf)
How to Talk to Anyone by Leil Lowndes

Off the top of my head, that's all I can think of at the moment, although I know there is more. If I think of more, I'll let you know, but that ought to keep you busy for a few years.
