thought i would share my experience that might act as a warning. i recently went to a wealth propulsion seminar here in Australia and in the hype of it all signed up to a another package. unfortunately although the training itself is over 2 months away when i contacted them about cancellation it wasnt possible. i am kicking myself, i really should have checked myself before signing up to such. its easy to get caught up in the hype folks, a fair bit of pressure tactics. take the time to think should you really want to sign up.. further more if you are in australia be careful,, unfortunately business ethics doesn't seem to be a priority for event management companies. |

Yeah, you do have to watch yourself. Unfortunately, while seminars can be very useful depending on who is speaking and what you're looking for in your life, they are often akin to high-pressure sales situations. The truth is that a lot of the people holding these seminars have great advice, but they are still monetarily motivated. Thus because they make their living through speaking, you often find that they partake in the same kind of shady (From a consumer's point of view.) business practice that large corporations do. If the talk is two months away, not being able to refund your ticket is absolutely ridiculous. There is no justification other than to keep your money, and possibly force you to attend another conference (Thus putting yourself in another high-pressure sales situation) and hoping you might actually sign up for another. I'm sorry you got caught by this kind of marketing, but at least you know better for next time. |

Some of those seminars can really be pitch fests. I've found the best thing to do is take really good notes for those things you can definitely take away from it and filter out the selling part unless you are ready for a more advanced session. Quote:
