How do you manage task lists (for everything in your life) ? If i don't list down to-dos, nothing gets done. but if i list down, i list down everything and then i feel overwhelmed by it. My default method is to wait for the deadline to arrive, and then something in my mind tells me "it's time to do this". so i always do last minute work. |

Write down everything and then categorize the tasks in four categories: 1. Not important, not urgent 2. Not important, urgent 3. Important, not urgent 4. Important, urgent Take care of the things in the #4 category first. These are your highest priority and will make the biggest changes in your life. After that, focus on the #3 category, and also take care of the #2 stuff when you need to. As for the #1 category, look at the stuff on that list and consider dropping some of it. If it's not important and not urgent, does it even need to be done? If not, cross it off your list. Can it be done by someone else? Hand it off. After doing this your organization is finished. Now you just need the self-discipline to actually complete your tasks. Try not to feel overwhelmed. Tell yourself, "I will do three of my most important tasks today."
