| As is mine.. honestly I have about 2,000 movies (okay, maybe a 1,000) scattered between 5-6 hard drives.. I'm pretty sure you're a lightweight compared to me.. in honest truth I must have close to 100 Gb (or so) dedicated to "new age" materials I have about 600 Gb dedicated to family movies and photo's (since that's a estimate.. let me check the real number) and the number is 702 Gb (I knew it had grown.. And all the rest of my drives goes to movies.. right now as we speak I'm downloading DVD9's of season 5 of DS9 (I believe) picked up season 4 in the last few hours I'm likely one of the biggest piraters here.. yet, you never hear me talk about it I taught my family to pirate.. and some of them actually do it without going "it's bad" like what your trying to do here.. For the record though I actually pay for my pirating.. lightweights/newbies.. (don't pay Quote:
I mean yah, there's some kind of "excitement" wow factor of.. getting a game.. or a movie or that latest windows right before it came out.. (I've been using windows 7 since it was released in August 2009 (I was lazy too and didn't install it for a few weeks) and vista since it came out on Election day in 2006 was it sounds about right.. windows 7 is such a improvement over vista But it sounds like this "wow" factor has fizzled.. I wouldn't declare "piracy evil" as you trying to do here.. (I assume) I would just move on to your next excitement I'll never quit until the alternative is as affordable or as easy as it is now.. I can download a dvd in 50 minutes (give or take) a nice blueray rip in a hour and a half.. and full blueray in 3-4 hours I collected all the mp3's I ever wanted in like 2001 or something and I've never collected those pretty much since (I add like 1 Gb a year or something.. but have been steady at 60-80 Gb of music)

| Linux is absolutely useless if you ask me.. (unless you run a server) it's the worst desktop OS I can think off.. I'd rather run *hackintosh* then linux But to each their own.. the truth about linux is.. it was created as a ANTI-Microsoft movement.. but as is common ANTI-creation movements are very weak because they create MORE of what they seek to get rid of.. by law of attraction.. I would not recommend doing it.. unless you want to make your computing life hard.. if your going to do it.. then run hackintosh (Mac OSX) Quote:
One of the reason I have so many hard drives is due to the stuff I don't watch.. (but sometimes I do get around to watching it.. it just depends) This is true.. through 1999 to 2004 I burned at least 300+ CD-R's of divx downloads I got off the usenet And then after DVD became cheap.. I burned at least 300+ DVD's of the same movies I recollected in DVD (better quality These days I've given it up and I don't burn or archive anymore.. I just delete and know that I'll pick it up again.. (if I need it.. this mostly works though there are some small problems with some software/movies) if I hadn't stopped the cycle.. I'd be downloading and burning x264's of the same MOVIES for archive quality to fit on DVD5's and the still expensive DVD9's? IRC.. I never got into it.. even for chatting.. I'm a usenet lackey.. through and through.. it's easy and lazy.. and got pretty cheap starting in 2004 Last edited by themaster; 07-31-2010 at 08:14 PM.

Be proud of who you are.. and what you like.. it's like you're saying.. I spent 10 years getting in good with the pirates.. but now I need money and to do REAL world stuff.. and I'm telling you.. your having a valid experience.. and you're not a "bad" person.. so please.. treat yourself with love and respect.. if your done with pirating be done with it (your never done! I spent my first 2 years online (not on the web in 1996-1997+) just chatting and making gross jokes.. I don't look back and say "ohh, how juvenile" I still love that experience in my life and even miss it Quote:
Because all software and movies is us.. doesn't matter "how" others see it.. this is the truth.. so when you consider it stealing.. your just "stealing" from yourself.. Quote:

I only have one thing to say to those of you that have posted "judgments" or statements of limitation in this thread BTW.. Sandra I liked your very neutral comment/way of looking at it.. |

"Because all software and movies is us.. doesn't matter "how" others see it.. this is the truth.. so when you consider it stealing.. your just "stealing" from yourself.." Well just stay out of the way of a judge and you will be fine. It would kinda matter how he saw it. Heh. |
