Default becoming an early riser questions.

Hi!

I have read the articles on how to become an early riser.

I have struggled with problems getting up in the morning for a couple of years now. Before that I had no problems, but after a 2 year break from high-level soccer, I just couldnt get back to getting up early.

Now I am a master business student, and I really need to get up early.

There is alot of good tips in the articles here, but my problem is that besides studying, I work weekends as a bartender, making me work late, and not getting to bed before 4-6 a.m. So I am practically breaking the rhytm every weekend.

Any of you have tips on how to solve this??

Should I just get like 7 hours sleep during the weekend, and then struggle up at monday, hopefully be back into rhytm on tuesday??

I'd really appreciate any good advice and answers!!!

Kind regards,

sleepy norwegian guy...

Can you get up early on the weekend as well, but take a nap for an hour or 2 in the afternoon?

That might help...?

I would just get enough sleep on the weekends. Getting enough sleep is more important than waking up at the same time, IMHO (though waking up at the same time is really helpful if you can do it-it's just not practical in your situation).

I generally wake up at the same time every day, but if I go to sleep too late I just let myself sleep in. Otherwise I'm unproductive throughout the day.

I would try sleeping enough hours before you go to your bar-tending work, and then get up early. So if you get home from work and go to bed at 5am, and you want to get up at 7am every day, I would try and get at least 4 hours sleep before you go to work.

When I decided to become an early riser, I made a pact that I would always get up at 6am, and if I was exhausted in the day, I could have a nap or an early night. I honestly think it's only the habit of getting up at the same time everyday that has allowed me to stick to it.

I'm not saying it definitely will/will not work, but I think that habit is important, but so is getting enough sleep!
