Default Tony Robbins Videos

I'm a fan of Tony Robbins. I have the 'Awaken The Giant Within' book and 'Get The Edge' audio program. My life has been enriched because of the implementation of the principles within.

However, I would like to see some video footage, either on the net or a DVD to buy. I have seen the TedTalks thing and the Larry King appearance (Dec 05) on youtube. If anyone else knows of any other video clips could you please post a link or let me know where it is available. I love seeing this guy talk. Thanks

Mark

I would like to know what especially your are liking and admiring!

I saw the Tony Robbins (youtube-) videos some days ago and they are all very strange to me. For example the CNN-interview (with Larry King): Excuse for the harsh words, but some moments he just reminded me of a monkey - Tony's way of speaking and especially his exaggerated way of using gestures and facial expressions. I permantly asked myself: Why can't that nervous man just sit there and tell for a moment, is he on drugs? I would not have friends who are that exhausting to listen to.

And on those videos where you see all those thousands people in a stadium with him - isn't this just as in rock concerts were people unconsciously throw away there minds for the ultimate feeling as being in the mass? Isn't that will to throw away your mind with the support of the mass dangerous?

I just cannot understand these irrational ways how those "here's what works"-idiologies are presented, and the way they (incorrectly) use (scientific) justification, or how the protagonists put themselves or their messages over them.

James Arthur Ray is even worse, when for example telling that physicists found waves in the microscope (sic!). Isn't it obvious, that especially he is just self-addicted? I mean, look at his face!

I understand that emotions are important to get into action, but I do not understand why these coaching people are so obsessed with self-presentation. (I have my guesses). If something is true and they are sure it will work, there is absolutely no need to shout it out like a child. One could be serious and moderate about it, that exaggerated way of permanent emphasis is rediculous to me, and reason to mistrust.

Yes I have to admit, I don't like Tony Robbins either, there's something about him that I just don't like. He's just too cheesy for me. He also gives me the creeps. I think I'm quite good at reading people and I don't get a good vibe from him.

Having said that my friend loves him and feels she has learnt a lot from him, each to there own.

i learned a lot from tony robbins and think he has a very valuable take on human psychology. I would agree though that he comes across as phony, cheesy, and overdone.

There's an old adage: People teach what they need to learn.

I think that if you go back far enough in the life of any PD or motivational guru you will find a teen wracked with insecurity and fear.

Default divorce

it's funny i watched this, not the whole thing yet mind you...
but for some reason I gained more respect for Tony Robbins for the fact that he talked about getting a divorce.
I always just pictured him always doing the 'right' thing and it was nice to see that he is human

I watched the whole thing now and I really found it great. Whatever the criticisms of this man are, however valid, he without a doubt has a lot to share and teach.

Default Qvc

The reality check of a lifetime probably comes every time Tony Robbins has to hawk his goods on QVC.
His life of private jets, owning his own island, meeting some of the most important people of our time is smacked in his face when he realizes he's just another guy selling goods on QVC.
QVC, also known as the death of spirit, the place where people throw their money away on stuff they don't need in an attemp to improve a life that isn't going to change

Tony Robbins is awesome he changed my life for the better. Whats wrong with throwing away your mind with the masses in a rock like crowd, his techniques work for a lot of people. Thats part of the attraction letting go your mind, passing the controlling thoughts and patterns and getting to your true essence. He does it in a cool american style, i like it

If it bought me private jets and his lifestyle, I would hawk my goods on QVC too.

BTW, what is with the 'You will get yours one day Tony Robbins!!!' attitude?

If QVC works it works.

I'm not hating on T.Robbins. I think he has an amazing perception of human will, want, and desire. I just find it humorous that one of the most successful men In America finds the best way to spend a Sat. Night is to hawk his merchandise on QVC. (I'm not judging, I'm sure he is following his values, and I know one of his highest values is to reach as many people as possible with his message, and this probably fits that bill)

I'm also not looking for him to fail, or 'get his.' It's just nice when you tend to see reality a little clearer than a so called professional. I just remember when I first read his book, or heard one of his tapes and he described how he basically created his wife, on a newspaper he was writing on, on a train. How he described her down to the last detail and then found her, married her, etc. That just seemed so artificial, so totally not about love, or real human relationships to me.

His story is a great story of how the Law of Attraction, visualizing, and manifesting your reality are all very possible, but the question is what you get is it as real as things that are found the old fashion way.
Yea, he got this woman, but now they're getting a divorce. I hope in his next relationship he finds an actual flesh and bones woman, sees how they relate, and if this woman is for him, before he just makes one up in his head, writes it down on paper, and then finds one that fits that mold.

Much love, I'm not looking for anyone to fail and one of his videos is acutally on the way, in the mail to my house.

Image you and all people you know personally are struggling with life. Imagine further, the whole country you're living in shares the same problem. Also, there's hope to solve the problem due to a message a new, emotional convincing politician is proposing, and through throwing yourself into the mass willingly, you all get hope and courage.

Sounds fimiliar? You don't need to go back far in history to see that giving up thought (especially encouraged by the mass) just for the inner release can be very harmful.

We've aggregated all the Tony Robbins stuff on our site at the following link:

Tony Robbins - Audio Books on CD and MP3, DVD Video

(Disclaimer: Since I own the site if it's not appropriate to post please feel free to remove.)

Most of his stuff his audio but here's hoping he does more video stuff in the future (I'm sure he will).

BTW, I really like his Higher Reaches of Success interview with Ken Wilber!

Default I Love Tony

I devour everything Tony Robbins teaches.

Same with Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Les Brown, etc.

I look for the value in each work.

It's amazing. I always find value in it.

I am so grateful for his big cheesy smile and larger than life presence.

I'm glad he takes the time to promote his programs on QVC.

For many QVC watchers, it will be the only exposure they get to personal development and self improvement. For some, they will begin a new direction in life because of it.

It's not for everyone.

If you find value in it, then run with it.

Live Your Dreams,

-Jill

Over twenty years ago I stumbled across Tony's first book, "Unlimited Power" it was true love at first read... I had no idea who the guy was or what he was doing... but, reading that book made me feel as if he was standing beside me and talking to me... we "connected"...

A few years later, I found, "Awaken the Giant Within" ...my life was never the same... I studied that book as if it was written in stone and Moses himself had given it to me...

The past two decades have been a beautiful love story between I and Tony's teaching...

As, evident in this thread... my views are not universally shared... and I respect that... to each his own... we each make decisions... and then have to assume the consequences... I believe that I have made the right decision in this matter... and I now enjoy its benefits...

I'm a huge Tony Robbins fan.

I recommend everyone at least check out "Awaken The Giant Within" and "Personal Power 2". All of his products are great though.

Tony also walks the walk and has his whole life;

At 13 years old he decided he wanted to be a baseball reporter and within in a few months (and still aged 13) he had an interview with one of the best baseball reporter in the US at the time, Howard Cosell. His interview made it to the Los Angeles Times and by 14 or 15 years old he was offered a contract to be a sports reporter for for a paper and as well as a job with a television station.

Then at 16 he delivered a speech that lead him to upset his more popular competitors and become the student body president.

In his late teens he elevated himself to one of Jim Rohn's top sales people, eventually being a director of sales and earning $10,000 a month.

He then slumped (due to discovering having lots of money lost him a lot of friends) to his lowest point at 21 (fat, broke and alone). This allowed him to gain new key distinctions and reinvent himself and become the true success that he is today.

He has also contributed massively and done lots of charity work.

Default Perception is Projection

Dear MarvinMini,

In the world of NLP there's a foundational concept called "Perception is Projection". It basically means that you project outward to the world and experience the world the way your own internal map or world is structured. So if you can't generate the internal excitement yourself, and this is pretty much always due to some form of unresolved emotion, maybe trauma, then you see those who can as fake, false or somehow hurtful to you. Essentially what happens is people act like mirrors to us. So if you're finding someone disagreeable in some way maybe the question to ask is what are they trying to teach, or what can I learn from them?

Hey I get it because I used to be where you are, all prim proper and Vulcan, it's no way to live, well IMHO anyway. My advice is drop the shield and actually listen to what Tony is saying and maybe just maybe you will learn something profound about yourself, something that will shift your perception and therefore reality. Until then I'm afraid your doomed to keep repeating old patterns. It's your choice and good luck to you my friend. Peace out.

I learned, from Tony Robbins, that I want to brainwash millions of people and never have to work another day in my life while they do all of the hard work and hand me money for smiling and beating my chest.
