I'm 46 years old and while I've got many, many things in my life that I'm grateful for, I feel there is more out there for me and I want it. I came across Larry King last week and they had some gurus (martini, proctor, etc) talking about the power we have all have if we learn how to harness it and something clicked. They also mentioned The Secret and when I googled it, it brought me to Steve's web site. He seems very credible and I have been thinking alot about what he has to say on these various subjects. Long and short of it is that I want to start the next chapter in my life in the hopes it will bring what I've been unable to find otherwise (fulfillment, personal, spiritual and financial). My question is this...how do I get started...do I write down my goals....is there a book I should read....do I start a journal.... Can someone help me.

I would suggest reading lots of Steve's blogs. It may seem to overwhelm you at first, due to the amount of material he presents, but I found that his stuff was better than most. I've been reading personal-improvement materials for about a year now (specifically for social skills/clout) and he really hits home with most of the material. I would also suggest really thinking about what it is that you want to be better at, I.E: time-management, socializing, overcoming fear, obtaining money(who doesn't want this?) and try to rationalize what should be your first improvement that would lead to other avenues for you to improve upon. Most people find that examining themselves and sorting out their priorities in life works best in assigning new goals. So look at what you want most out of life (love, money, fame, happiness etc...) and decide which of those things would most help you to improve upon the others.

Hi Tommy, at age 46. I don't know if you've checked out Steve's article about discovering your purpose in life in 20 minutes, but since your looking on how to proceed on the next chapter of your life, it seems like this article might be a good, next step, in the right direction. |
