Default How much do you work?

In a typical week (including weekends), how much do you work on AVERAGE per day? (Only including the time you spend being FOCUSSED on work, which means discounting the time you get paid for but don't really do anything, or if you are student, time you schedule for study, but end up just staring at a page, listening to your music).

About an average of 9 hours a day.

I work 10 to 11 hours per day for my company. Then 4-8 hours over the week end for myself.

On a hard working day, I work for four hours in a very concentrated manner.

This discounts everything you listed above.

Michelle,

What do you mean by "This discounts everything you listed above." ?

I mean I discounted the time when I am not focussing or concentrated or just staring at a page or laying around. I counted only time where I am intensely focused on the task at hand.

Well...I am not really as effective as you guys are, even though I try to work as much as 8 hrs a day, I end up working maybe 2hrs in a concentrated manner, the rest spent in a semi-concentrated state.

I really wish I could improve my concentration...even though I have been trying to do so, I havent been that successful, for its not the external agents like some music or telivision, or phones which distract me, but my own thoughts which distract me most.

Could you suggest any method for improvement. Does meditation really help in any way. I had tried it once but when I found it ineffective I dropped it.

Post more free time

now I'm in holiday, so I only study only 4-4.5 hours per day,

but when I'm at school, I always study about 8 hour per day.
Usually I can be concertrated durning 70% of the class and have to do about-2.5-hour homework per day.

Some of my classmate even work harder than me, because I'm in China.
^o^
^o^ ^o^
^o^ ^o^

I want to have more free time
I need more time to work on things I'm really interested in, like personal development...

thinktank, try Paraliminals. It seemed to give me better work results.

Most people I know work hard -- but so many of them spend many hours engaged in very inefficient tasks.

The key is to work smarter, not harder.
