I don't understand why I am bored. I used to enjoy videogames and such, as it gave me sense of accomplishment. But, I have played through most of my game library and none of the titles seem to give me anymore satisfaction. Multiplayer online for my games seem dull. I have nothing else to do besides play or chat on my iPod touch. I am thinking that it might be clinical depression, but when I think about my games, most of them involve point-shoot-repeat, and it appears that the fun of that has worn on me |

Except for the fact that I am bored, which equals not having fun. I don't live my life in the virtual world. I have school to deal with, so I have important things to do. As I said, I am terribly BORED. I wish I could play tennis or do SOMETHING. but it's near Christmas and I am piled inside by snow, and have no friends I could play with nearby. ... Maybe I am lonely :/ | |

Trust me some day when your an adult, you will longingly look back to a simpler time when you had so much time to be bored. Don't rush it though. I was very imature at 18, so to prove my adultness i got married. We had kids. Classic kids having kids. lol do as i say not as i did.

perhaps you could try something different besides the games you are playing....do you like to read, have any other indoor hobby interests? not the season for tennis...are you interested in outside winter activities...ice skating...sledding...i apologize if you are too old? for that you may be a combination of lonely, depressed and bored...one way to get over that is go outside of YOURSELF. try volunteering somewhere...serving a christmas meal to the homeless. visiting a hospital to cheer someone...it might make you feel better about yourself. maybe just winter blues...that will break in the spring....good luck. |

It's been years since I last even heard the word boredom. And I don't have that many friends either, but I'm always busy with something. Plus, there are movies, Youtube and stuff, if nothing else helps.

it is a tremendous big world out there and you have your whole life ahead of you...explore, enjoy it.... maybe if you hang around this forum and interact with others on many different subjects...you will find a kind of friendship or kinship here, and it will open your world up to new things |

I haven't been bored in a long time, maybe since I was a kid. I know call those intervals of time with nothing to do "relaxation". I don't get bored, I relax. Don't worry, there will come a time when you won't have that problem anymore, when you'll have kids, a wife, a job, bills to pay etc etc etc, your biggest "problem" won't be 'what video game should I play?' |

When what you do bores you, the solution is to try something else and see if that is better. I would try things that are in some way creative. If that works, then great. If it doesn't then try something else again until it works. I think it is very much normal that computer games start boring you at some point. Actually, in my native language, which is Dutch, we don't say "I am bored", we say "I bore myself" which is actually much more accurate. If you don't want to be bored, just don't bore yourself but enjoy yourself instead.... |

Gain some clarity on what excites you. 11 Ways to Gain Clarity I don't have a lot of friends and I don't even take a lot of free time - but I'm still having a lot of fun because I'm doing things that excite me (e.g. working on my career as a musician). |

When I was a child, I would complain to my mother that "I was bored", to which she would reply, "well I'm not here to entertain you". As such, I took it upon myself to reflect on the situation and discover why I was bored, and what I could do to fix it. No one knows the answer better than yourself, you just have to take a moment to reflect on the situation. When I grew up (and really in the process of growing up, including the entirety of high-school), I was always too busy to become bored. Never stressed, just busy. I would suggest changing your life so you are not wasting your current time. Become more effective and take advantage of the free time your current life style grants you. |

Simple enough - find a new challenge. Video games were a challenge for you, after a while that challenge is not fulfilling enough, so you need to set a new challenge. What have you always wanted to do? Have you wanted to badly travel somewhere? What are your dreams, wishes? It's time to get excited about some things again - they may not all be achievable immediately, but for most dreams, wishes and goals you can put an action plan together once you have really found something that excites you again. I believe that boredom is a sign that you are not really growing. Boredom is energy that is coming in but not really flowing out toward anything. It's kind of like a subtle hint from the universe that you are stagnating a little. This is nothing to be concerned about. I agree with most everyone in that you simply need some new interests and to expand a bit. Once you find something that ignites a little bit of a fire, you'll be off and running again and the boredom will disappear.
