Default "The secret" - how is the book?

Hi,

I've been seeing "the secret" on Stevepavlina.com but never knew it was all about the law of attraction. First time I've heard of it was Stevepavlina.com's One Million Experiment. I've attracted something like $270 (multiply by 500 to get it in my country currency). I thought "great". All I have done was repeating Steve's sentence several times a day...

Then nothing happens after that.

Anyway, I was going to ask people how have read the book how is it? Should I save up to get the DVD or just get the book as I'm kind of impatient.

Default I'm reading it

I just started reading the book a few nights ago. So far so good. In the past couple of days I have been able to feel the difference of positive thought (negative thoughts definitely do attract only negative thoughts! When I think "I WANT peace of mind" as opposed to "I DON'T want to think about how much I messed up" [for instance] I can feel the peace of mind immediately).

I'm not very far into the book yet but I'll keep you updated as I continue to read!!

Farryn

PS I haven't seen the movie so this is all new to me. I plan to watch the movie though after reading the book

I am skimming through it seems like it might be a nice complement to the movie but I think hearing the stuff is better because the book is in many ways a transcription of the movie and its kind of like reading a screenplay - its not how the material was intended to be presented..

I would highly recommend The Secret by Australian Rhonda Byrne. Both the book and movie are worthwhile. The concepts examined by this author are very similar to concepts examined in Napoleon Hill's "Think and Grow Rich." People may ultimately seek to attract different people, opportunities and events into their lives. The books I mention outline specific processes that individuals described have undertaken to benefit from the laws of attraction. Let us know what you think after you have read mroe about these ideas.

The book came out after the movie, so it is pretty much a script of the movie (you won't miss anything if you read the book and not watch the movie), but with the added benefits of some minor updates - nothing earth-shattering though.

Thumbs up

I just purchased the book today ($15 at Walmart). I'm hoping to keep it on my work desk and use it as a "pick me up" tool whenever I get lazy and my mind starts to wonder.

Plus I'm sure that by reading the book I will pick up certain things that I may have missed in the movie.

But I would recommend getting both. If it's something inspiring to you, it is not a bad investment.

I recommend the DVD over the book.
