Default Structuring Free Time

A lot has been said about how to structure our work days, but how about free time? Do you think it is more fulfilling and enjoyable to have a plan for your free time or to leave it completely improvised and open-ended?

Both ways work for me, sometimes I like to plan things out and sometimes it's a spur of the moment thing.
I don't think one way of spending my free time is more fulfilling and enjoyable than the other.

What she said

Harking back to 'corporate life', if I planned to do things on 3 consecutive weekends - then by the 4th I was craving a completely unstructured time to goof off, chillax, whatever, do things at the last minute and feeling resentful at not having 'me' time by which I mean time alone (which I absolutely RELISH) without the words 'must' 'ought' 'should' 'duty' 'compromise' etc etc being anywhere in my vocabulary.

My life is much more flexible now, but I still don't like to have too much planned for my officially designated 'time off'.

I've allready tried planning my days out like crazy like:
5:45 wake up
5:47 100 crunches
5:52: 3x45 pushups.
6:07: Shower.
6:20: Put cofee on
etc
etc.

I did it for two weeks. No doubt about it, results were there, I improved fitness, energy, basketball skills, and guitar skills. BUT by the middle of the second week, I felt like I lived the day before I wake up
