Hey guys. Whenever I'm drunk or really tired, I find that I can think really clearly, in the sense that I know exactly what I need to do in order to get my life to where I want it to be. I'm also extremely motivated to get all these things done. But when I wake up the day after, I find myself falling back into my old habits of procrastinating and doing unnecessary **** that doesn't help me at all. I've tried stuff like writing things down when I'm in that state so I'll be able to do the stuff I need but it's doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone have any exercises or tips that can help me maintain this state once I sober down or actually being in that state without alcohol or not sleeping for 2-3 days straight? Thanks. |

I second the water fasting, but would recommend it for only a few days. I believe you are talking about "state." This is a common event known in the seduction community. Your mind is basically pumped and and you're running off adrenaline. I wouldn't call it clarity, but rather you lose a sense of limitation and feel "freer." If you wanted to maintain this state, I suggest you do a water fast to rid yourself of toxins and eat a diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Mentally, I suggest you focus on expanding your comfort zone and trying to do things that are normally uncomfortable. Good luck. |

| I had the exact same when I used to smoke pot. Everyday, while I was high, I was going to "save the world", give up all of my nasty habits and become a model at how I lived my life... Only to do the exact opposite the next day, and find more grass to smoke etc. This was a vicious circle. And the only way I got through it was by quitting pot, once and for all, not using any other means than strengh and will. Once I got out of there, I knew what I had to do and clearly where I stood. Being high gave me the impression I knew what I was up to, it really helped me to change a lot of things about me, but on the other hand it biased my vision of things. And by the time I quit smoking, it really was time I gave up because I had lived with so many biased things that I was progressively destroying everything around me, even friendships. Perhaps, it helps us (even though it destroys) because it opens up some sort of sensitivity channel, making us more vulnerable... |

Sleep-deprivation produces similar effects in the brain as alcohol. Alcohol works really great as emotional lubrication. I think what happens is when you're drunk, emotions flow and you feel great because of it. And when you're not, they back up and build up pressure, and that definitely causes a lack of clarity. I think, find something that you can use to help your emotions flow. Something that doesn't leave you hung over the next day. |
