1. Pursue their purpose in life.
2. Use reason, the act of looking at reality and using logic, as best he can.
3. Pursue one's own happiness and self-esteem without apologizing for caring about his own life, the only one he has.
4. Carefully evaluate all passively absorbed notions--take nothing on faith (related to #2).
