Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. I bought Steve's book and I'm quite impressed - I especially like the 30 day challenge chapter. I'm going to post a few 30 day goals here, kind of a way to act as accountability for me. I'm 25 years old and I'm kinda in a rut in my life right now, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. I need to make serious changes. So, for the next 30 days I will: -Focus on my breathing whenever I remember to. This has to be the backbone of every action I take. I'll simply count my breaths up to 100 and start over, instead of dwelling in obsessive thoughts and worry. Anyone else ever do this? -Get out of bed every morning before 7:30 AM, including weekends. -Make a checklist every night for the next day. -No pornography and no masturbation - I've actually been real good about this the last month or so, I went about 2 weeks then I caved. But I need to up the ante a bit - develop, transmute my sex drive, and develop genuine relationships with women. -Only watch TV I have scheduled myself to watch, limit to one hour a day during the week. No random browsing. -No checking email on my cell phone (an obsessive habit I have) OK, I think this is good for now. Hopefully the breathing habit will help me deal with a bunch of withdrawal symptoms I'll probably feel. Thanks for the support, this is a great forum. I'll do my best to contribute to all your posts as well. |

I'm a new member also. I stumbled upon this website by accident.. or I should say, it stumbled upon me for a reason! I too need to make some changes in my life. So, I am challenging myself to do the following for the next 30 days: Get out of bed when my alarm goes off...the first time! Get out of bed before 8am on the weekends. Make working out a priority--follow my trainer's workout plan! So I think these things will immediately help me to be more productive and help me to feel better about myself. We shall see!! |

Hi Ben, I see list of "bad" things you plan to stop doing. List the "good" things you will be doing toward solving your situation? Otherwise it will be like starting a war against darkness instead of turning on the light. Gleb |

Hey Ben! Welcome! Just be careful to bite off more than you can chew. Personal Development is a long road, but an awesome one, you just have to be careful not trying to eat the whole cake in one mouthful. For a first 30 day challenge I'd suggest 3 at most, one major, one medium and one minor challenge. And frame them positively, give yourself lots of reminders, and write down the benefits you hope yo accomplish. |
