Great. Really looking forward to your trial. I'm very interested in the underwater training especially - having been a swimmer all through high-school - I'm sure it contributed to a higher attention span and concentration.
Keep us posted!

I will second this, I just started one myself about ten days ago. Mine was

1. Wake up at 7:30 AM every day
2. Stop drinking caffeine

I used to go to bed around 2 or 3 AM, then wake up at 10 and have wasted my whole morning. Now by getting up earlier I am becoming extremely time efficient as I can get alot of my business work done before even lunchtime. And, I can now also eat breakfast, lol.

Not drinking caffeine has been a HUGE success for me. My body feels so much more "natural" and balanced (and its only been 10 days!). It took the first two days just to get passed the headaches of not having it at all, but now it has been amazing. I play ice hockey for instance twice a week and can notice a huge difference in my stamina.

Looking at it from a life changing perspective as skrmish has pointed out, I am beginning for the first time in my life realize that any day can be as highly productive as you want it to be if you work at it. You truly can manifest your day and accomplish SO much you didn't think possible. I am convinced that I want to become a time efficiency machine now, which will definitely change my life for the better.

I am 20 and love playing a game called battlefield 2 online. Before this experiment I had restricted myself to only playing on the weekends so I could get my work done, now I am done with my work by 5 and can play for an hour or so a day (which was another manifestation of mine). Simple put though, that could be my wife one day, or reading a book, or talking with a friend, or getting coffee with a friend, etc. The possibilities are truly endless.

I'm in too...

I am planning a 30-day challenge starting on Monday to eliminate procrastination. After so many books I can't count them, and more missed goals than I'd like to admit, I have reasoned that procrastination is the main problem holding me back.

I am redesigning my life this weekend to be a bit more streamlined, and removing a lot of things I felt that I "should" be doing, in order to concentrate on the things that I really want to do but always seem to put off.

I know that I can be more productive, and a 30-day challenge seems like a good start...

Any procrastination beating tips very welcome!

1. Gain 10 lbs of muscle
Progress: It's been about a week and a half and I've gained about 4 lbs.

2. Visualize 3-5 times a day
Progress: It's usually fine in the morning but sometimes I have a hard time doing it later in the day when I'm distracted by many other things. For the most part, I've noticed alot of good things coming my way, which motivates me to keep doing it.

Default 30-day trial – eating organically grown food

I'm in too.

Starting on February 11, I’ll do a 30-days-trial of eating all-organic food.

When I envision my ideal life, I see the habit of consistently eating organically grown food. No doubts. Thus, creating this habit, while being a worthwhile goal in itself, will also be a way to magnetize other pieces in the puzzle of my ideal life. Working through any resistances to all-organic grocery shopping (too expensive, not enough variety, etc) until it becomes a natural thing, will also be a way of working through general energy hindrances that lie between the current and the envisioned state.

Oh, and while I'm at it I'll add a second goal: Getting up at 6am at least 5 days a week.

(and hi everyone, since this is my first post! )

Procrastination is the ?only? thing that hold people back from achieving their goals.

Here's a top procrastination tip for you (from someone whose spent 2years studying and teaching people how to stop procrastinating):

Don't make it a goal to stop procrastinating. Instead, focus your attention and your efforts on achieving more of your goal, quicker and with greater fulfillment. Carl Jung said that 'What you resist persist' and this is very true. If your attention is on 'stopping doing something' then the very act of resistance will cause for it to persist.

You have to move beyond it and focus instead on the solution, which is not to stop, but to be more effective.

This 30-day challenge is a great way to focus the mind. Keep it up and keep us posted on your progress

It is hard to follow a procrastination expert, but I can give some advice from my personal perspective. The 3 main things I've done is:
- Write quarterly (or seasonal in non-business-speak) goals: Writing them down makes them official, and does not let me waver or change my mind. I also posted them on my blog so the people in my life can hold me accountable.
- Keep a weekly planner moving towards those goals: I sit down on Sundays looking at my goals and aligning my plans to them. It means that I am focused on what is important rather than just reacting to emergency after emergency. Not a big deal, it is usually just a bullet-point list of 8-10 items that I keep with me and check off regularly.
- Joined 43 Things (http://www.43things.com/): It is a really good way to keep on track, and allows users to cheer each other and give each other advice.

Good luck!

You can't gain 10 pounds of muscle in a month. Those four pounds you gained are mostly water, some fat, and some muscle.

I agree... I wasn't 100% clear what I was going to do, but have spent the weekend preparing and am following the "Now Habit" by Neil Fiore for 30 days. This is much more specific and achievable.

For example:

1) I am logging in a Procrastination journal every time I am tempted to procrastinate, how I felt, what I did and how I felt about the results.

2) I am concentrating on changing my negative self-talk to more positive statements, like "I choose..." and "I can start on one small imperfect step..."

3) I have planned out my week using Covey to identify my Q2 goals, but have not locked any time in for them - I am using the Unschedule technique to ONLY schedule comitted time and "play" time, giving me clear windows of where I can work on my goals.

4) I am breaking down all of my projects into weekly chunks, using the reverse calendar to ascertain suitable end dates.

There are a few more steps, and I am working on developing some more tools to help me - one big change I have made in my attitude is along the lines of Steve's "Ready, Fire, Aim" thing - I have started a goal to beat procrastination, and I will be developing and enhancing that goal as I progress.

In the past I would have had to have had every single step for a procrastination beating plan laid out in advance, would be procrastinating on finishing that plan through fear of being overwhelmed, fear of failure and fear of success.

Now though, I am excited as I am using all my creative gifts to find new paths forward, to integrate and extend the material I've read and to find new ways of succeeding in my own way.

I may only be a few hours in, but already I have done 7 things that I've been putting off for weeks...

J

I am in. I only have one challenge for the next 30 days, but I think it is something that will profoundly affect every other part my life. I have been working at it for several months now, but everytime I make some headway with getting this part of my life in order, I start slacking again.

I want to keep it simple. Starting 2/12/07, I will spend at least an hour a day taking some action related to improving my financial situation. This action cannot be reading or planning.

Alright this is more of a 15-day goal

By the end of the month I plan to have 9 more articles posted on my blog. The average wordcount should be 1500+. Fingers crossed I don't get sidetracked.

Alright, heres my latest update (19 days into my experiment):

- Waking up at 7:30 AM everyday has worked fairly well, and I still get up at 7:30 or 8 AM every morning except for Sunday, where I sleep in till 9 or 9:30. My body now expects to get up around this time, and I almost naturally am on a cycle. It is very nice to get up earlier in the morning, but I am still working on becoming a productivity machine during this time. I have found it somewhat challenging to "get going".

- The no caffeine on the other hand has worked WONDERS, and I can't stress it enough. I went from 1 can a day during the week and 2 or 3 cans a day on the weekend to ZERO ever. I actually tried to drink it once after the first week, and I couldn't because it tasted so bad. Since I started my experiment, Ive only truly had it once and that was simply to keep me awake at the wheel while I was on my way to and from a business meeting (1 hour 30 minutes away). It is amazing how much more "natural" my energy levels are, and I fall asleep every night in probably less than 3 minutes.

I mentioned that I was having extra time at night after the first ten days, and this is still relevant. I also stated that I could start playing battlefield 2 with my spare time during the week, which Ive done and now am going to STOP doing. Ive decided that I want to use this extra hour or two in a more personal reflection type manor. Reading a book, or journaling, or something along those lines instead of gaming. I will keep track of how this turns out.

A New 30 Day Experiment

Ever since starting this one to stop drinking caffeine and get up earlier, I've reflected recently and decided to start another one. The new one I started Sat Feb 16th (2 days ago) is this, the first thing I do when I wake up every morning is I write in my now daily notebook what I want to manifest for the day. For instance Ill write "Work from x to x" and then write below it "laugh alot, feel accomplished, fun, easy". For it being day 3, It has worked amazingly!! Ive manifested EVERYTHING I write down, and out of the perhaps 15-20 specific occurrences I wrote down, every one has come into being!

The craziest one by far was on Friday the first day I started. I am 20 and had a date with a girl that night that I knew only from a random group encounters. I wrote down I wanted to "find out about who she is inside" and "laugh alot" amongst some others. And, not only did I end up almost belly laughing numerous times, by the end of the night we were talking about MANIFESTING and dream boards! Heck, I even found out she did Taro (sp?) card readings for fun! She is now going to make a dream board for herself, and needless to say I think Ill get a 2nd date with her.

It is wild what this 30 day experiment is capable of doing. I think I am becoming addicted; perhaps I should make a blog where we can all share 30 day experiment stories...
