Last two months were absolutely crazy - I've got sick and missed several important events (like registration for one course that I was very interested in), someone stole my handbag with all the documents and money, and at the end I didn't get the job of my dream despite the fact it was very, very close. And yes, I've also get refusal letter from the other job. So now the best thing I can do is just to move on. But I feel stuck in depression or, most probably - melancholy. I just feel unhappy and every time I'm trying to start something, I'm asking myself "What for? It won't work anyway...". I'm not a looser, but now I'm feeling like one. I'm stuck in self-pity and lack of motivation. How to overcome that? How to "recover" after several failures, one after another? |

Here's something you could try. For each of the incidents, write down what happened, what you could learn from it, what positive outcome could there possibly be from each one (eg missed registering for the course - so this means what time is free now that wouldn't have been had you been successful - so what else could you do now with this time you were prepared to 'clear' in your diary? Not getting the 'nearly' dream job - where does that leave you? Free to take the dream job when it DOES appear! It's all about "meaning" - how does someone ELSE stealing your handbag make YOU a failure? What could you have done differently? How can you prevent it happening again? What did you learn from it? If someone stole your best friend's handbag - how would you feel about her - would you think she is a failure - if not, why not? |
